Flash Interview

THE MODERATOR: Welcome back to the interview area. We're here with Jinhee Im. 4-under 68. Can you take us through your round?

JINHEE IM: I played really well today. No get into trouble. I just had many fairways and many greens. That front nine is a little boring to make just par, but it can break at No. 10 and that have chance to get in more birdies.

Q. What do you feel about the course and the conditions so far after one round?

JINHEE IM: Yeah, I'm really exciting come here. That course condition is really good. I think green speed is really, really fast, but not firm. So if I can hit the fairway, I can make the birdie chance.

The first important thing is make it in the fairway.

Q. Were you ever out of position, and how close did you come to a bogey?

JINHEE IM: You mean the time?

Q. No, the location on each hole, like did you hit any errant drives or anything that would have put you in jeopardy of making one?

JINHEE IM: Yeah, I have one trouble at 11. I missed the fairway; I go to the little left. But that rough is really sticky, so I played 8-iron, but I'm just carrying like 60 meters, something like that. I can hit the chip to one meter, so I make par easily.

Q. You're one of four players at 4-under. Are you surprised by the low scores so far today, or is this what you expected?

JINHEE IM: I think weather is pretty good, so if same in afternoon, I think more players come to the low under par. So if have some wind, it can be low. But weather is good, then it can be a good score.

Q. What did you learn from your U.S. Open experience at Lancaster, and how confident were you about your chances this week coming here?

JINHEE IM: I played well this year. I got all bogeys through four rounds. So I just think about why I have the same problem at the same hole.

So just little things change just for same hole but not same shot. Like I normally hit the draw, but that wind change I can hit the fade that hole. I learned that about last year.

Yeah, really I'm a little nervous, but I think, if I play like today, I can do something.
