Q. Birdieing two of those last three holes, does it feel like you're stealing a couple?

NICK TAYLOR: Yeah, definitely. I hit two really good shots on 17 and 18 -- sorry, 16 and 17. 16 went just over the green. So nice to chip that one in. But another quality iron shot into 17 to make the putt. So, yeah, those were bonuses and then made a great up-and-down on 18. So if you play those three at 2-under at any point, I definitely feel like you're stealing a couple.

Q. How would you assess the course conditions out there, the thick rough? It seems like guys have been commenting all day how this is really more or less like a tune-up for Oakmont, just given --

NICK TAYLOR: Not even a tune-up. It's more like a U.S. Open. Yeah, I think the key there was staying out of the rough a lot. I was in the first cut a few times or the bunkers off the tee. So that's definitely a key with me with not being a bomber. The rough is just brutal, so if you can stay out of it -- around the greens, if you miss in the right spots, we chip out of it enough it's relatively predictable at times. But you just wedge it out essentially if you miss the fairway. So that's a big key for me.

Q. How would you say your game's trending lately, especially given how special next week normally is, where would you assess where you're at?

NICK TAYLOR: Yeah, it's been a pretty solid consistent year. Quail was a course I never really played great at. I actually played decent, but just short game really wasn't sharp. Yeah, the game feels pretty good. It's nice to get this kind of tune-up, if you want to call it that, before we go to next week. I've never played TPC Osprey, so I'll need to learn some of that golf course, but it's always a special week so I'm looking forward to it.
