Quick Quotes

Congressional Country Club

THE MODERATOR: We're here with Angel Cabrera at the 2025 Senior PGA Championship. We'll open it up to questions.

Q. Obviously you've just come back this year. How hard has it been to be on such a long layoff and to come back and be so competitive so quickly?

ANGEL CABRERA: It's not that easy, but I worked really hard. I worked on the technical part, worked on the physical part and the competitive part, and I think this is why things are starting to work now.

Q. Did any part of your game come easy versus some of the parts of your game that may have been harder to come by?

ANGEL CABRERA: The hardest part was probably the short game, but with a lot of practice I was able to recover it fast.

Q. Your time away, did you think about golf at all in your mind? Did you think about coming back? Did you have any plan set up in your head?

ANGEL CABRERA: When I came back, I came back with the idea that I've been there, I've been in contention in the tournaments, and playing as well as I could.

Q. When you finally did get in contention, did you feel the same things that you remembered from before?

ANGEL CABRERA: You always feel the same thing. Anytime you are in a position that you could win, you feel the adrenaline.

Q. Breaking through as early as you did when you came back, does that make it easier to come through and play more tournaments, meaning basically to get that success early, does that make it easier to be more successful as you go along?

ANGEL CABRERA: Obviously I knew I could win, but I didn't know it was going to happen so early, and the fact that I could win early in the season gives you a lot of impetus and momentum for winning the next tournament.

Q. Winning last week in what we would call difficult conditions, soft conditions, muddy conditions, and coming here, what were your thoughts after the win last week, and what are your thoughts now after 36 holes here?

ANGEL CABRERA: Last week I had a great week. I was hitting the ball really well, especially my drives. This week is only 36 holes, but I'm playing well. But this is golf; we'll see what happens.

Q. What was it like going to the Champions Dinner again?

ANGEL CABRERA: It was very special to be back with the best players in golf. It was very thrilling, and I had a great time.

Q. Will you play Senior British and all the rest of the schedule? Is that your plan?

ANGEL CABRERA: Anything. As long as I feel well physically, I want to play everything I can.
