CHARLES SCHWAB CHALLENGE

May 22, 2025

Bud Cauley

Fort Worth, Texas, USA

Colonial CC

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: 66 in the first round. Maybe could have been a shot better with that putt at 18 defying gravity there. It looked like it was going in for you.

BUD CAULEY: Yeah. Yeah, it looked pretty good. I had a couple out there that just snuck by, but all in all happy with how I played.

THE MODERATOR: The start with a little bit slow, but how were you able to rally there with the birdies in the middle part of the front nine?

BUD CAULEY: Yeah, I hit a lot of good shots. I didn't drive it really that great today. Something I need to go work on here in a couple of minutes.

But, yeah, hit a lot of nice iron shots, made a couple of putts.

THE MODERATOR: How pleased are you with the round considering you haven't played here in competition in a few years, and you were still able to go 4 under par in the first round?

BUD CAULEY: Yeah, obviously it's changed a little bit since I was here last, but it's generally the same. Even though it's been a while, I've played here a lot, and I feel pretty comfortable here.

THE MODERATOR: All in all 50th in FedExCup points this year. With so much success, what's it been like for you?

BUD CAULEY: It's been fun. Trying to keep it going. It's fun playing good golf, so just want to keep doing that.
