Quick Quotes
Q. 5 & 4 every match, that's domination, at least in this format.
DAN WALTERS: Well, we'll take it for sure. Yeah, it's been a nice three rounds so far.
Q. I have you guys 13-under par for three matches. How good has the golf been?
DAN WALTERS: I think it's been good. Evan played tremendous this afternoon. I thought I played very nice myself. You know, I think I was trying to figure it out on the last green. We maybe missed collectively like three or four greens, something like that. So we just had look after look after look, and he got hot. A couple times he didn't let me putt.
Q. That's always nice, right?
DAN WALTERS: Hey, go ahead, go for it.
Q. Chad and Davis said you may have been 6-under on your own ball?
EVAN BECK: I don't know, I know I made three coming in.
Q. What holes?
EVAN BECK: 11, 12, 13, and then --
DAN WALTERS: Birdie on 9.
Q. So 9, 11, 12 and 13?
DAN WALTERS: And you birdied 7. Did you birdie another one early on? You missed on 2, I missed on 3. You birdied 6. So there's six.
Q. Anything of length?
EVAN BECK: I was hitting it pretty close.
DAN WALTERS: Maybe 12 feet at the most?
Q. How about playing a couple of Wake guys? Was it good conversation out there going on?
DAN WALTERS: I mean, I'll speak for us. We know each other so well --
EVAN BECK: It was very comfortable.
DAN WALTERS: Literally every year we've played at least one practice round together in this. Obviously they won in Birmingham, we lost in the semis, could have played them in the finals. To be honest, I would have liked to see them later in the week, but that's just how the cookie crumbles.
Q. Is it easier to play guys you know or guys you don't have any clue who they are?
EVAN BECK: Didn't give it much thought, to be honest.
DAN WALTERS: Just trying to play.
Q. Your thoughts of maybe -- you're two wins away from another USGA title in eight months.
EVAN BECK: A lot of golf left. I think it's going to be -- weather is going to be tricky tomorrow, so we'll keep doing what we're doing.
Q. What has clicked all week for you guys?
EVAN BECK: Dan and I were talking about it a lot. It seems like the more golf we're able to play, the more we can figure out how to play again. It's been nice to get a couple rounds in a row.
DAN WALTERS: Totally agree. I think in the stroke play we were sketchy in some spots, and a few times were guys were playing on their own ball and holing some putts to just kind of keep plodding along. You get a few more reps -- it's still early in the season, right, for Mid-Am golf, if you will. So yeah, it's been great, and the venue is absolutely fantastic.
Q. It's hosted a U.S. Women's Open here and U.S. Amateur here in two events.
DAN WALTERS: It's really, really, really good.
Q. What do you do for a living?
DAN WALTERS: Paper and packaging.
Q. In North Carolina?
DAN WALTERS: Well, we're based out of Baltimore, Maryland.
Q. You're living where?
DAN WALTERS: I live in North Carolina.
Q. And you're with a finance company?
EVAN BECK: Yeah, Brown Advisory.
Q. That's consulting?
EVAN BECK: No, it's an investment management firm, also based out of Baltimore, but I'm in the D.C. office.
