PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

May 18, 2025

Harris English

Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

Quail Hollow Club

CBS

Q. Harris English, 6-under 65, that's your lowest Sunday round ever recorded in your major championship career so far. What was going so well for you, especially on that back nine that's been such a challenge for so many?

HARRIS ENGLISH: I got some momentum with the putter. I haven't really felt great this week. I feel like I hit a lot of good putts, just not going in. Speed was a little off, just not going in.

I finally got some momentum. I feel like I've been playing really well all week. I actually had my caddie reading putts for me, which happens throughout the year some, but I literally had him read every putt. Just gave me that confirmation, and he was really reading well and stopped me second-guessing myself. Whatever we did worked because I putted really well.

Q. When you see a change like that that starts to work, will you continue that until it stops working?

HARRIS ENGLISH: We'll see. Golfers are weird. I don't know, some greens I don't see as well. This week I had a lot of trouble seeing lines. The grain was throwing me off a little bit.

I don't know, we'll see. He was doing really well today. We might start off next week and see if it keeps working.

Q. You know what they say. It's only weird if it doesn't work. You were looking at that leaderboard a little bit when you sat down. I asked you, are you going to stick around? What are you thinking?

HARRIS ENGLISH: I believe Scottie is going to continue to roll. There's definitely, I would say, four really good birdie chances out there, but 7 and 8, 12 is a birdie hole if you hit the fairway, 14 and 15 are birdie holes. I see him -- the way he finished yesterday was incredible. He's playing some good golf.
