C. GAUFF/M. Andreeva
6-4, 7-6
Q. You played Mirra in Madrid. You're playing the same player again. Coming off a win, do look for something she's doing different tactically from the start?
COCO GAUFF: Yeah, I think she tried to be more aggressive today. When you play someone so soon, it's difficult I think because you know that they're probably not going to play you the same as last time. You want to play the same because it worked for you. You know they're expecting that.
For me I think it was just trying to feel it out during the match.
Q. After Madrid, you're in the semi in Rome. How confident are you on clay right now?
COCO GAUFF: I'm really confident on clay. I think it's a surface that works well for my game. I would love to get a big title on clay just because I do love it.
Yeah, I'm having a lot of confidence, but hoping to go even further.
Q. Zheng or Sabalenka, what do you prefer?
COCO GAUFF: I don't have a preference, to be honest. They're both tough players. It's going to be a tough match regardless of who I play.
Obviously I would maybe like to play Aryna because I just played her in Madrid, just to get some revenge (smiling). Obviously Qinwen is tough to play.
I have no preference. It's going to be a tough, hard match either way.
Q. How nice is it to have a good head-to-head, that control with players you keep playing a lot?
COCO GAUFF: I mean, honestly I don't think about the head-to-head so much. Especially when you're playing someone younger, you know that they can improve so much in a little bit of time. I mean, I think about my game compared to when I was her age to now, it's a lot different.
Yes, it's good. Also at the same time when I go on court, I treat each match like a new match and expect her to be better than the last time we played.
