Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Ariya Jutanugarn after her first round here at the Black Desert Resort. Bogey-free round for you today. What was working so well?
ARIYA JUTANUGARN: I did make so the putt today and because maybe I got pretty lucky because I play in the morning, so it's not really windy so you can still stop the ball on the green and hit it close.
But this course is like if the wind pick up I think it can play pretty tough.
Q. You only missed one green and one fairway all round. How much of that was the key to your success out there?
ARIYA JUTANUGARN: I would say this course can be really stressful because you kind of have to plan everything, every shot, like tee shot, second shot, where to finish the ball.
Like what I said, I'm very lucky this morning. No wind, so got a bit easier to stop -- like finish the ball where I want to finish.
Q. What goes into the mentality shift from last week and a major championship, totally different golf course, to desert golf?
ARIYA JUTANUGARN: I would say when I got here I felt like the course is really tough because like it's kind of new. It's different, really unique, really beautiful.
But of course last week I didn't finish the way I want, but it's so many thing going on, like good thing, and I just want to carry on from that and keep working as hard as I can.
Q. Obviously hit it pretty far. Did you have to dial back that length? Don't carry a driver. Are you hitting more irons off the tee? Have you put any other clubs in the bag to account for that?
ARIYA JUTANUGARN: I would say this week you kind of have to plan your tee shot, so you're not really be able to hit driver 3-wood every tee shot. I hit some iron and some rescue off the tee.
Q. What would be the iron that you hit the most or rescue you hit the most off the tee?
ARIYA JUTANUGARN: So right now I didn't carry my 2-iron and 3-iron so I have rescue, so I hit 4-iron and some rescue.
