Ivins, Utah, USA

Black Desert Resort

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, here with Yahui Zhang after her second round at the Black Desert Championship. Started with a bogey on the first hole. What was your thought process after that bogey and how did you bounce back?

YAHUI ZHANG: I was thinking that I have already got a bogey so no more bogey today. And there is a lot chance that I can play birdie, although yesterday I saw the pin position I said, this is much difficult than yesterday.

But I still saying I have a lot of chance to play a birdie so I just want birdie, birdie, birdie.

Q. Yeah. It's looking look you had three birdies at the end of each nine. Can you just talk about those holes maybe? Anything special about those holes that you think make them more birdieable?

YAHUI ZHANG: At the back nine?

Q. Yeah, looks like you had birdies on 14, 15, 17 and then 4, 6, 7.

YAHUI ZHANG: Oh, I see. I think although I still lost a lot of birdie I didn't putted in, I just want catch every chance I can play the birdie.

So that's mean I still got a lot of improve because I still think I have more birdie can play.

Q. Were you hitting all those really close did you feel like or making long putts?

YAHUI ZHANG: Yesterday I play really close to play the birdie, but today it's not. Today at the first nine, so I start at the back nine, so at the first nine I just putted in really long putt.

At the back nine, they're all pretty short, two or three yards away.

Q. Talk about the greens. They look very slopey. How are you handling those greens?

YAHUI ZHANG: I think I just sometimes, if the pin place is really difficult, I just play the middle of the green. I mean, if you can putt it in, oh, that's mean your putter is really good. But if you can't, you still can save the par.

Q. And did you feel a lot of wind out there today compared to yesterday?

YAHUI ZHANG: Because yesterday I start at afternoon the wind is pretty big. Today I start at morning, at 7:00, really early, so I didn't feel a lot of wind.

But still a little. Like you will get too far like five yards, or close, five yards, like that.

Q. We are here when Utah for the first time in a while for the LPGA. Since you played some of those Epson Tour events in out the before how do you think that's helping you this week?

YAHUI ZHANG: Last year I come to play the Utah in Copper Rock to play the Epson Tour, and the first thought I was thinking is it's so beautiful. But there is -- I think there is more like more wind, more windies, but the fairway is pretty easy.

Here is not easy. Here is only fairway and rock. So the only thing I going to do is hit on the fairway. I think it's help a lot because you know what the weather at here and what the green, what the fairway looks like. Yeah, kind of like that.
