Quick Quotes

Q. All right, how do you feel about how you did today?

ALI MULHALL: I feel a lot better. I feel like I came back, really grinded out there, and shot a good round today.

Q. Any struggles that you had out there?

ALI MULHALL: I think just not getting too ahead of myself, just staying in the moment, and not pressing too hard.

Just trying to stay calm I guess.

Q. It's been 24 hours almost exactly since you tee'd off yesterday. After all the months and life of buildup, what does it feel like? Weird to have it all happen so fast and be over with?

ALI MULHALL: Yeah, feels weird definitely, but proud of how I finished today. I had a good round and I guess I'll just see what happens rest of the day I guess.

Q. What is your takeaway from this experience?

ALI MULHALL: My game is definitely ready. I showed that today. My mental game was better today. I feel like I can play out here. I'm just young.

Q. You talk with Jay Don. What was it like for you? What does it mean to you to have someone with his experience and accomplishment to talk with?

ALI MULHALL: It's honestly priceless. Jay Don is amazing. He has so much knowledge and I really appreciated him coming out my first nine. Kind of calmed me down a little bit.

Q. What did you ask him?

ALI MULHALL: Lots of stuff. I asked him how to play in pro-ams and how to deal with the nerves and he said, just play your game. But he is just an amazing person.

Q. And what did you hit off the tee on 6 that left you one step from trouble?

ALI MULHALL: I hit a 3-iron. Wasn't supposed to go that far. Just kind of kept rolling on me.

Q. What did you hit on 8, the par-3, to within a foot?

ALI MULHALL: Gap wedge, my 50 degree.

Q. You have quite the gallery out here watching you. All matching you as well with the colors today and yesterday. What does it mean to have all that support from them this past week in your first LPGA start?

ALI MULHALL: I mean, it was incredible. My family means everything to me, and for them to come out here and walk 18 holes both days, it was just incredible. And I am so thankful they could come.

Q. Was it friends and family? Looks like a lot of folks out there.

ALI MULHALL: Yeah, friends and family. Lots of people came from everywhere.

Q. You've played in over 360 tournaments in your life; first time with the LPGA. Did you feel confident, especially as well as you bounced back today? Do you feel confident you can play with these players?

ALI MULHALL: Yes, I do. I think really my bounceback today helped me kind of keep that in my mind, kind of solidified that I can play out here.

Q. What was your approach today? Disappointing day on the first day and you knew you could come back and back a good day. What was your approach going into it last night?

ALI MULHALL: It was kind of -- well, we call it controlled aggression. Be aggressive where I can, where it makes sense, and play smart everywhere else.

Q. What were some of the takeaways you took from watching Hinako and I can't remember who else you played with; did you take anything from their games?

ALI MULHALL: Yeah, they really -- they're plans are so detailed and they stay super calm no matter the situation. Really good team work with their caddie and player.

Q. Presuming the cut line doesn't change, you have to turn back to the WAPT. Will that be weird to go back to, or take more confidence into it? What would be your approach?

ALI MULHALL: I honestly think this gave me more confidence going back to the WAPT. If I can shoot under par today, that means I can play good out there.

Q. So you know you can play out here. The trick is getting out here.

ALI MULHALL: Uh-huh.

Q. How do you keep that in perspective with just one Q-School a year?

ALI MULHALL: Yeah, kind of just take it step by step. I am new to the professional world, so just learning as much as I can this first year and hopefully just gets better as the year goes on.

Q. Congratulations. It was really cool to watch you.

ALI MULHALL: Thank you.

Q. Now that it's over, or maybe, do you feel like it's been everything you hoped it would be?

ALI MULHALL: Yeah, it was more than I ever could have hoped for.
