Q. Charles, talk us through that round today, obviously as a team win, but one of your best results since 2023. How was it coming up a bit short?

CHARLES HOWELL III: Listen, I knew today would be a tough day to catch Bryson and even to try to beat him, but I gave it my best. I definitely would have thought 9-under would have done it, and clearly it didn't.

It was a fun day. It was a tough day. Yeah, I think any time you shoot 9-under par in the last group and you still don't win, it's a tough day.

But we got the team win. It's been a while since we've stood on that podium as a team winner. It was really big for that as well.

Q. What's the dichotomy like as you're playing in one of the final groups with your teammate, trying to win as a team but you're obviously competitors. What's that like?

CHARLES HOWELL III: It's weird because obviously you've got your teammate right there in Bryson but obviously trying to beat the guy. Starting the day off five back, I don't really think you think going in I'm going to beat this guy today.

Yeah, got off to a nice start. I thought I had a chance, but he kept it together there at the end.

Q. Did the thought of a potential playoff cross your mind at all heading into this last couple holes? How does that enter into your mindset on 17, 18?

CHARLES HOWELL III: It absolutely did. I thought I had a better drive on 16, and it kind of kicked right up into the lip of that bunker. If I don't make bogey there, I think I have a chance.

Then Bryson's putt on 17, I mean, let's be honest, it was going. If that doesn't hit the hole, maybe.

Yeah, I'll tell you what, I had seen how good that Paul and Ban had played and that we'd secured the team. To be honest, that makes a difference. It kind of frees you up a little bit because it's a weird thing trying to maybe compete to win a golf tournament but also want the team to win. So you don't want to do anything stupid coming down the stretch.

To see those guys had played a really solid round of golf today, but man, Bryson, he kept it together at the end and managed to finish off strong. That putt on 17 was awesome.

Q. This is like the halfway point of the season, so to speak, for the LIV Golf calendar. Does this win come at a good time, kind of hitting the back half of the year? What does it maybe do for the team as you set your sights on getting ready for the team championship coming up?

CHARLES HOWELL III: We'd obviously like to have momentum going into the team championship. I think it's really good. We obviously want to do this every week, but I think we'd rather do it later in the year than earlier in the year if we had to pick one.

Yeah, I love the way that we're going, and our guys have had good results at some of these venues coming up, obviously Ban at Valderrama last year and whatnot. Yeah, it's a fun time of the year.
