Louis Oosthuizen

Incheon, South Korea, USA

Jack Nicklaus Golf Club

Stinger GC

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Let's welcome Louis Oosthuizen, captain of Stinger GC.

Louis, well played. You're currently tied second with a score of 6-under par 66 after the first round here at LIV Golf Korea presented by Coupang Play. Can you talk us through your round today and some of the key moments?

LOUIS OOSTHUIZEN: Played pretty decent today. I made some good putts, and I gave myself some good opportunities.

Just brought back a lot of good memories today of that 2015 Presidents Cup when we played it here.

Q. Louis, as you said, you were one of the top scorers that year for the International Team and the Presidents Cup when it was here in Incheon. Did that bring back some good vibes for you out there today?

LOUIS OOSTHUIZEN: Absolutely. Me and Branden that week had an unbelievable week. I think he went 5 for 5, and I had 4 1/2 out of 5. We just really played well around this golf course.

Definitely today on a few occasions I remembered shots that I hit back in 2015, and it was just good memories.

Q. Stinger in good position this week. Obviously Branden's out, but John Catlin in as a good sub. What's the game plan going into the weekend?

LOUIS OOSTHUIZEN: The four of us need to play well this weekend. It can be tricky out there with the wind today and got quite cold at the end.

The four of us just need to put our heads down. John's been playing good, so he's a good sub to have. Hopefully we can pull something off this weekend.

Q. Welcome Louis. I remember you playing in 2015 at the Presidents Cup, and I was wondering, considering that LIV Golf is currently playing for the first time in Korea, how is it different?

LOUIS OOSTHUIZEN: Well, stroke play and match play is completely different competitions. I think we were -- during the Presidents Cup, you were a lot more focused on hitting -- well, a lot more aggressive with your iron play, especially going for pins. With stroke play this week, you're a little bit different.

I do think the golf course presents quite a lot of birdies, and the greens are really good. So you can make a few putts here.
