NASCAR CUP SERIES: JACK LINK'S 500

April 27, 2025

Ryan Preece

Lincoln, Alabama

Pit Lane Interview

Q. Ryan, second today. Your best career finish at Talladega. What are the emotions knowing the day you had, running up front all day?

RYAN PREECE: I feel like I need to do a (indiscernible) check because I felt a little weird inside of race car. I needed that little bit like when you are on a go-kart to edge by Austin.

No, I'm happy. But as a racer, you want to win, right? I felt like coming through, I'm all right, we're all sticking together. Nobody was really leaving me. I wish I didn't have to shade up so much and maybe side draft Austin to pull him back.

Ultimately thank you to RFK, Kroger, Celsius, all the partners we have at RFK. Probably without this opportunity, I'd probably be back in Connecticut racing modifieds. This one is for the modifieds crowd.

Q. What is it like as a driver trying to calculate all that and time everything to stay with that pack to give you a shot?

RYAN PREECE: Yeah, it's not easy. I felt like this was the most aggressive I've raced on a superspeedway, pushing the issues. You got to figure out who's going to have that fast car. Obviously was all Fords today.

The right holes open at the right times, but ultimately just 22 hundredths shorts, or 22 thousandths.
