THE MODERATOR: Let's welcome our hometown hero, Carlos Ortiz from Torque GC. Carlos, you're currently sitting at T6, you shot 3-under. Tell us a little bit about your day.

CARLOS ORTIZ: It was a slow start, definitely. I think I was 2-over after 2 and then it was just a fight after there. I feel like I did a good job because I actually did not put myself in good positions after those two bogeys, and I kept it somehow, and then I started playing some good golf and finished strong. I'm really happy the way I played today.

Q. How did you feel out there with all the love from your fellow Mexicans?

CARLOS ORTIZ: It's awesome. It's hard because they're all screaming and saying my name but I have to stay in the moment. It was awesome. I really enjoyed it. I feel bad sometimes not even to shake everybody's hands or just say hi to everybody that screams my name, but I really enjoyed it.
