Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Esther Henseleit after her final round here at El Caballero. How happy are you with the final rounds and the week overall here in Los Angeles?
ESTHER HENSELEIT: Yeah, it was fun. I got off to a bit of a slow start on the first day, but, yeah, after that first nine on Thursday I played really good.
These last two days holed some putts and it was, yeah, a lot of fun.
Q. How important was holing the putts out there this week, especially because it seems like there is lots of birdies out there?
ESTHER HENSELEIT: Yeah, I mean, yeah, you have to hole the putts and the greens are pretty tricky, so it's pretty hard to get them close.
You definitely have to take advantage of the par-5s out there. I didn't do that today to be honest. I left a couple out there.
But, yeah, every time it's low scoring you just depend so much on your putter, so get that going the last two days was great.
Q. Clearly you knew at the start of the round today you had to chase and go low to have any chance. At what point during the round did you think, hey, I'm putting together some birdies, I might have a chance?
ESTHER HENSELEIT: To be honest, I didn't get to that point. I feel like as we said, there are so many birdies out there and it's so crowded at the top of the leaderboard as well. So that like four, five people really play bad and not one of them makes birdies, I don't think it was realistic.
I thought maybe if I can get it to 20 on the back nine I might have a chance. You never know what happens down the stretch. But, yeah, I never really felt like I was in it like 100%.
Q. Conditions today, Hannah was just in here and I asked her about the conditions. Seemed like the ball was maybe rolling out a little bit more today than it had the previous days. Did you find that today?
ESTHER HENSELEIT: Yeah, definitely. I mean, it was a lot warmer. Got a bit windy on the back nine as well. Today there was a lot of front pins. With the greens firming up it got really tricky. You had to land it just on and you had a false front. You had to be a bit careful.
So yeah, definitely played harder today than the last few days.
Q. How happy are you to see just a string of good rounds under your belt before heading to the first major of the year next week?
ESTHER HENSELEIT: Yeah it's great. It's always good to be playing good, especially into a big week like next week.
Yeah, you just got to stick to the process and keep working on yourself and hopefully get good prep in next week, get some rest, and then be ready for the tournament.
Q. How do you usually feel like you play at the Woodlands? Do you like that course?
ESTHER HENSELEIT: Yeah, I had a good finish there last year. I've been a bit unlucky the last two years with injuries going into that week. I've been wrapping myself in cotton wool the last week, because last year I dropped like a 35 pound weight on my foot; the year before I had a stiff neck. I'm like, I'm just trying to be healthy come Thursday.
