Quick Quotes

Q. Cam, 5-under 66, excellent round. If we could get some comments, especially on that front nine.

CAM DAVIS: Really good front nine. I felt like I started to find a little bit of a groove with the swing yesterday. I just didn't hit enough fairways to use it. But today I feel I hit a bit more, especially on the front nine.

It was nice to make a few putts as well and make the most of it and turn in a good score.

It was a little frustrating on the back nine. The wind got a little gustier and harder to read. The shots felt the same, but they started landing in different places to the accuracy I felt like I had on the front.

Overall, good score. It's been a couple of months of not great golf, so a score like that really was nice to see.

Q. Take us through that stretch there, four birdies in a row.

CAM DAVIS: Four birdies in a row. Just, yeah, a lot of good tee shots into the fairway, which was -- it's always the key on any golf course you play, but these holes out here, I feel like it's a little more intimidating. Good shots off the tee. Good wind reads. Just kind of hit the right spots.

The par-3 7th, I clipped the tree, and it dropped straight down but left me on the fringe, which is not too bad.

Just a lot of really good solid shots, and the putts rolled in. It's nice, sometimes when you get on a run, you don't really know how many you've made or where you are, which is a rare place to be in this game, I feel like. More often than not, it's gone the other way. Yeah, it was very nice to kind of feel like I was in a little bit of that flow for a bit.

Q. You talk about it being a little gusty on the back nine. How is the weather overall, and how has it impacted the conditions compared to yesterday?

CAM DAVIS: It's pretty much the same as yesterday. All week it's been pretty much perfect. I'd say a little bit of breeze is perfect. Otherwise, it gets too hot out here.

It's really good scoring conditions out here. The ball is going quite a long way because it is warm enough for that. When you're in amongst the trees, if you're hitting them down a little lower, it's actually not too bad. You can judge your distances well on the greens consistently just releasing out.

So everyone knows, if you land it five short of the flag, it will release up to the flag. Those combinations, I can see why guys shot really low scores yesterday, and I can see good scores being shot again today.

Q. When you've got these almost perfect conditions and you don't have to think, you should be able to get around the course in good time. Were you happy with your pace today?

CAM DAVIS: We were keeping up with the guys in front of us for the most part. When we're playing in two-balls, I don't think we worry too much about pace of play. If anything, you feel like you're going fast and still can't keep up in certain situations, but for the most part, it moves really smoothly.

Usually two-balls is a reward for the first two rounds going well, but it's nice to have all four rounds out here moving nice and smooth.

Q. It's easier to get into a rhythm?

CAM DAVIS: It's less waiting for sure.
