JM EAGLE LA CHAMPIONSHIP

April 17, 2025

Miranda Wang

Los Angeles, California, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, I am here with Miranda Wang who just shot a 7-under in her first round at the JM Eagle LA Championship. Just tell me a little bit about the round today. What was working so well?

MIRANDA WANG: Well, today I think my swing was really smooth, and actually I started the round with a really good ball striking. Like the first hole I had a birdie chance. I didn't make it, but I think it gave my confidence.

Q. Which side did you start on?

MIRANDA WANG: I started on No. 10.

Q. Yeah, lots of birdies. Any particular birdies or shots stick out for you for today?

MIRANDA WANG: Today actually I play really consistent round and every birdie was just approach shot and it was making the putts within like ten feet.

Q. I know your last start on Tour was at Blue Bay.

MIRANDA WANG: Yes.

Q. Top 10 finish. How much did that finish help build your confidence?

MIRANDA WANG: I think it really help with my confidence. It was the first tournament and I started in my home country, so I had pretty high goal for myself.

I'm just really happy that I finished in top 10. Great start of the season, uh-huh.

Q. How would you assess your rookie year so far? Not just in terms of playing, but how is it going being a rookie out here so far?

MIRANDA WANG: So I think it's lucky for me that I met many players back in the junior -- I mean, many players on the Tour I met in junior tour and I play college golf and there are actually six Blue Devils out there.

Yeah, we had a dinner when we played in Blue Bay and they were sharing experience with me. They were just like Leona and Anna and Lindy, they were so nice to me. It was like easy. I think for me it's easier rookie season because I can learn so much from them.

Q. Last question: Just how do you sort of carry this momentum into tomorrow?

MIRANDA WANG: Well, I think I have a pretty good tempo of my swing right now. I just hope that I can make it stable and do what I do today. Keep focused.
