WNBA DRAFT

April 14, 2025

Sania Feagin

Los Angeles Sparks

Q. I just wanted to ask you, being from South Carolina, how did it feel having Dawn Staley in the audience as you lived your dream out and got drafted?

SANIA FEAGIN: It felt amazing just to see her out there. Her support is amazing. She always supports. Just to see her get so proud for me is amazing.

Q. From the little girl who gave the AAU team buckets, then recruited her, to hearing your name called on draft night, what does it feel like, and what did you think about how far you've come and what is next?

SANIA FEAGIN: I mean, it's amazing. The feeling is like something you can't even explain. Just to know that I grew up and started from really nothing and got to where I am now is amazing.

Q. What message does this send other young girls that look like you that aspire to follow in your footsteps?

SANIA FEAGIN: Just to trust your process. Everybody's process is different, so give it your all when you go out there. Be who you are, stay confident in who you are and you'll end up where I am.

Q. You've played in four Final Fours. You got two titles. How does that championship culture, how will that translate to the W for you, especially with you going to a team who's sort of in a rebuild process?

SANIA FEAGIN: It means a lot just to go there and carry on from what I just left from. Just to go there, showcase who I am, showcase where I came from and enjoy the environment.

Q. Dawn Staley and South Carolina, you learn winning, confidence. What sets you apart from these other athletes at this draft?

SANIA FEAGIN: Like I say, I trust in my process. I stayed at South Carolina. Didn't play that much my first couple years, but I trusted the process. I stuck through. I trusted the Lord's plan, and He got me to where I am now.

Q. Who was your favorite WNBA player growing up, and what would your younger self say if she knew you would be in the same league?

SANIA FEAGIN: I can say my favorite WNBA player growing up would be A'ja Wilson.

I think my younger self would just say she's proud. Way to stick it out, way to trust the process, way to be where you are now.

Q. What are your expectations for your rookie season in the WNBA and how do you think you'll adapt to the professional league?

SANIA FEAGIN: I can say my expectations for the WNBA season is really just to learn from the vets, to understand and to trust my process and to be confident in everything I do.

Q. What was it like waiting to hear your name called and then I thought it was pretty cool, it was nearly back to back to back, the trio of Gamecocks to get drafted? Can you describe what that meant, and has the group chat been going off with all you guys?

SANIA FEAGIN: Yeah, it meant a lot to me just knowing we all got drafted back to back to back. I texted the group chat letting them know congratulations because we did it, we made it this far. It just means a lot to be here with my teammates.
