Quick Quotes
Q. So on moving day you moved in the right direction, would you say?
NICOLAS ECHAVARRIA: Yeah, we're moving in the right direction. It's always better to go forwards than backwards. Very happy with how I played. I had a few good breaks. But sometimes you've just got to take advantage of them because this is a hard golf course.
Q. How do you keep the attitude? First Masters, you're T10 right now. How do you keep the serenity? What's your secret?
NICOLAS ECHAVARRIA: Just try and have a smile and a good posture out there. Inside there's a lot of nerves, especially in the first tee. Then you let the round flow, I would say, and that was key today. I hit some quality shots starting the day, and I took advantage of good breaks, as I said.
Q. Best moments of your round today?
NICOLAS ECHAVARRIA: The par on No. 9. The best par I've made.
Q. Can you describe it?
NICOLAS ECHAVARRIA: I pulled it left. A tee shot left is no good on 9. I had either a gap to go over the trees and be probably 30, 40 yards short or hit it in a small gap with like a mid-flight 7-iron, and I went for the mid-flight and I hit a perfect shot, landed on the green, trickled off, and got it up-and-down.
I took advantage of the situation. I hit a really good shot there, got it up-and-down, and then made birdie on 10, parred 11, which is a hard hole.
Q. Do you see yourself going for the lead tomorrow?
NICOLAS ECHAVARRIA: Well, I'm still going to be six or seven or maybe eight back. I just have to drive it a little better. But yeah, I'm in a good spot right now, so I'm happy with where I am.
