Augusta, Georgia, USA
Quick Quotes
Q. What will you take from this experience?
EVAN BECK: Unbelievable. Coolest thing I've ever done, and it's not close. Privileged to be here, privileged to be a part of it. Very fortunate the USGA and the Masters Tournament provides an avenue for guys like me to be able to do this. It's extremely special and a week I'll never forget.
Q. Did you try and enjoy it more today than yesterday?
EVAN BECK: I tried to enjoy it yesterday, I just kept three-putting and it was hard to have fun when you're doing that.
But yeah, I had a ton of friends and family out here watching, and it was an extremely special week.
Q. I talked to your dad out there. You guys had the Team Beck hats and all that. How cool was it to bring the friends and family in?
EVAN BECK: Very cool. It's a lifelong dream to be able to tee it up in this tournament and just very lucky it all worked out and friends and family were able to be here to be a part of it.
Q. You've got the U.S. Open and then getting married in October?
EVAN BECK: Busy year, yeah. Hopefully I'll be able to play some more between now and then, and it was good to get some rounds in under this amount of pressure. I think it probably won't be that way until the U.S. Open. It was good to be exposed to that.
Q. This is obviously a dream for any Mid-Amateur to be able to play the Masters. You've chased this for a long time and reached it. How much does this inspire you to continue, knowing what this has been like?
EVAN BECK: Yeah, this is extremely cool. Winning the Mid-Am is probably -- I guess you can finish two-putt 2 at the Am but very limited avenues to get here.
In match play anything can happen. I'm very lucky that the Mid-Am went the way that it did and I was able to be here and live out this dream, like you said.
But I'm going to keep playing. I think I've got 10 more Mid-Ams, so we'll give it another go.
Q. What advice do you have for someone else who might be standing there in the same position answering the same questions, how to come in here and enjoy it as much as you have?
EVAN BECK: The advice I would have is to play a tournament between the U.S. Mid-Am and the Masters to get some nerves going and some reps, if you can get into a TOUR event or a Korn Ferry and play in front of a bit of a crowd, that would be ideal.
But if not, play something. I feel like I dropped the ball on that one.
Q. A lot of people asked you about the stock tips. Any further discussions on the finance world that you had with Bubba today?
EVAN BECK: No, nothing -- we didn't really talk today. Not a lot of chitchat going on. He, I think, is going to make the cut comfortably, and I was comfortably shooting whatever I shot out of his way.
