MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 9, 2025

Sahith Theegala

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Congratulations on your new signing, more than just a financial arrangement obviously. Talk to us a little bit about the emotional side of it.

SAHITH THEEGALA: Definitely. It's very exciting. It's something that I've wanted for a while. It just took a little while to get the business side of it dealt.

I'm very excited because the Indian culture is very important to me. I want to play golf in India and inspire over there as well. A lot of my family is still obviously over there.

So I'm excited to go over, play the event, but also just represent Hero as a global company. They've done so much good for golf and sports in general. All kinds of different sports.

To be associated with a company that has such a good standing in many, many ways is awesome. Just thankful for their team and Dr. Munjal for having me on board.

Q. Just one question. You made your debut two years ago. How much of a different golfer are you from then till now as far as tackling the Augusta course?

SAHITH THEEGALA: Honestly not too different of a golfer. I feel like I've gotten a little bit better, but still the same feels and the love for the game and the shots that I see in my head are all playful shots. I still can't hit a stock shot very well.

Just working on my body, trying to stay healthy, putting in the work. The results will come as they will.

I definitely am more confident and am maturing. It's funny, I feel like sometimes I don't feel like a younger guy out here. There's so many young guys. Even playing with Shay, he's like four years younger, five years younger.

I know I still have a lot of time to reach my prime or my peak or whatever it is, but I feel very good. I think this is a great week regardless of the form coming in as long as you have some confidence and a few things to lean on. You know what you have to do out here.

I'm looking forward to a good week. I think I have a good chance of having a nice week.

Q. How would you assess 2024?

SAHITH THEEGALA: 2024 was awesome. It was an incredible week. It was a dream year other than I couldn't get a victory. I was close a few times, but a couple guys just had better weeks.

Yeah, to cap it off with a TOUR Championship and Presidents Cup was awesome.

I had a great year. I played well in a couple majors. I feel like I made strides in my game, and I know what to do moving forward.

The start of this year hasn't been great, but my game still feels like it's there, which is good. I don't feel lost or anything like that. Still playing good enough to play weekends and find some form.

I feel like I'm ready for the major season now.

Q. Coming back here, how much do you draw from your top 10 finish here? Also what happened on the 16th when you produced some real magic. You don't want to be in those collection areas again, but how much do you draw from it?

SAHITH THEEGALA: Big time. I draw a lot of confidence from it because I know it's not a fluke to have a top 10 out here or a good week. It's really tough. You have to play really good golf. Knowing I did that without maybe my best stuff gives me a lot of confidence.

Even last year, just to fight to make the cut was important to me. I have a lot of good memories, and I feel good about my game coming in.
