MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 8, 2025

Taylor Pendrith

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. How was it out there?

TAYLOR PENDRITH: It was cool. Yeah, it's amazing how dry it is after all the rain. Yeah, we had a great day. Got to play with Weirsy and Corey and Nick, and those guys really helped me out. Just really tricky around the greens and trying to figure out where to leave it and angles into par-5s if you're laying up.

They were very helpful to me and Mitch, and, yeah, feel like we got a lot done and feeling more comfortable.

Q. I don't know if you've seen it yet but you're going to be playing with Fred Couples in the first two rounds. I saw he was there on the 10th tee. Did you guys talk about anything?

TAYLOR PENDRITH: We just talked about hockey, actually. We talked about Ovi's goal and I told him that Mitch's buddy was in on the assist, Dylan Strome, so that's all we talked about. I didn't know we were paired together but that's cool.

Q. What does success look like for you this week, obviously it's your debut here, but have you had a chance to think about coming away from this week thinking about success?

TAYLOR PENDRITH: Yeah, I mean I feel like my game's good right now and I feel like we just tried to learn as much as we could today. It's really tricky. Certain shots are tough and you really got to kind of work the angles and be smart with some things. My game feels good. Hopefully enjoy the week and enjoy the experience.

It's my first Masters. It's already been such a cool week, so I'm hoping to play well. I think my game's good and kind of suits the course well, so yeah, hopefully get off to a good start on Thursday and just enjoy the week and see what happens.

Q. The people is the obvious answer, but what's maybe been the biggest thing from playing now versus a week and a half ago or whenever it was that when you were here?

TAYLOR PENDRITH: Yeah, it's gotten faster. The greens for sure are tighter and there's some putts that I hit a couple weeks ago that I hit today and you got to add another three feet of break. It's in awesome shape and the greens are rolling really nicely right now. It's still some greens seem a little bit more receptive, but it's pure.

Q. You grew up playing such a high level baseball and hockey. When did competing in the Masters become a dream of yours?

TAYLOR PENDRITH: That's a great question. I mean, I honestly, even the first few years in college playing college golf, I had -- didn't really know I was going to play professionally, so obviously I watched the Masters Tournament and followed golf, but never really thought I would be here until probably the last. Once I got my PGA TOUR card it became more of a reality that, hey, if I do play well I could get here.

I had been a couple times as a spectator and so it's -- it will be a really special week. It's already been such a cool week, and to have all my family and friends here, it's awesome.

Q. Obviously looking forward to tomorrow, of course, with Hayes and everyone out there. Obviously in a week full of highlights, how much do you anticipate that being a big one?

TAYLOR PENDRITH: That's going to be a big one, yeah. My wife is pumped, Hayes will be pumped. He'll be buzzing around out there and all of our family I think -- I joke that they're more excited for that than the tournament, but I know they're excited for the Tournament as well.

But it's going to be a really memorable day for our whole family and I'm going to play with Corey and Nick and their kids, it will be really cool day.
