Q. Can we start from the top with No. 1?

ASTERISK TALLEY: Yeah. Crazy hole there. I didn't see it go in. I just kind of saw everyone jumping and screaming and I was like, oh, I guess it went in, and I put my putter away and went to the next hole.

Q. What was going through your mind walking to the second tee? Did you have just crazy adrenaline going through you?

ASTERISK TALLEY: I'm sure I had some adrenaline, just subconsciously, but I tried to just calm down and think, this is the next hole, that hole is over, and it's time to play 17 more holes.

Q. What is it about the back nine that you feel so comfortable with because you played really well out here again this year. What is it about the back nine that fits your eye?

ASTERISK TALLEY: Yeah, I just think it fits my eye a little better than the front. It's a little easier to hit my driver on that nine. I think it's just more fun coming down the home stretch. You've got Amen Corner and everything and you just have just amazement going through your eyes when you're walking through the back nine, and I think I was having a lot of fun no matter what, and I wasn't really thinking about the leaderboard or anything. I was just trying to shoot my score and having a lot of fun.

Q. How much were you watching the leaderboard throughout the round?

ASTERISK TALLEY: I'm always watching it, always looking, but I didn't really care that much going through the back nine or going through every hole. Just trying to make the best shot I can and think one shot at a time.

Q. Was it easier dealing with nerves or anything this year coming back out?

ASTERISK TALLEY: Yeah, I think I still had a little nerves. I think my legs were numb on the last hole. But yeah, it was a lot of fun. I think I was just going crazy through my head. I was playing so well, and it was just so much fun out there.

Q. Where does this accomplishment rank in terms of what you've done over the past couple of years?

ASTERISK TALLEY: It's the best. It's always going to be the best. I think I'm going to carry this with me throughout the whole year and throughout my whole career. I'm just going to wear that on my sleeve and just take it with me.

Q. What does it tell you about where your place is in the world of amateur golf right now?

ASTERISK TALLEY: I think it tells me that I can play against anybody, and I don't have to be scared of any course or anybody in the field. Just knowing that this is one of the most crazy courses and it's so hilly and hard to play, but knowing that I played well here against the best people in the world is something that I'm going to take with me.

Q. What makes you so comfortable here? You seem to always perform.

ASTERISK TALLEY: I feel like I'm comfortable everywhere usually. Just knowing that I played well last year gave me some confidence through this course, and I think I just tried to stay calm throughout the whole day.

Q. What's on your mind as far as the future? Are you thinking at all about college? Do you think you might skip college and go straight to the pros? Where are you at with that?

ASTERISK TALLEY: I want to go to college. I think it's going to be a great experience for me. I think it would give me a chance to have a team all the time. I love team play, and I love that environment, and I think it's going to give me a great experience.

Q. Have you taken visits?

ASTERISK TALLEY: I haven't yet. I'm not allowed to yet.

Q. How much have you grown in the past year?

ASTERISK TALLEY: I have no clue. I get that a lot, thought. I feel like I've not grown.

Q. But people ask you that all the time?

ASTERISK TALLEY: Yeah.

Q. Do you know how tall you are right now?

ASTERISK TALLEY: I'm like 5'9", 5'10".

Q. Do you know how far you can carry the ball?

ASTERISK TALLEY: Carry, probably like 250.
