Quick Quotes
Q. Tell me, how much fun did you have today?
ANDREA REVUELTA: I had so much fun today. It was incredible. I mean, playing here at Augusta National is something to go grateful for on its own. Playing with Carla was such an honor for me. She's Spanish and we were there two Spanish girls on the National Team.
She was so happy for my good shots, too. It was a great vibe out there, and I'm so happy to have shared this moment with her.
Q. Was it a little bit more relaxing given the fact that was your pairing?
ANDREA REVUELTA: I mean, seeing her, I mean, it's a known face so it feels like family. Seeing two Spaniards tee off together at Augusta National is very inspiring. I would say also or the next generation coming, all the Spanish girls that want to be here someday, I think I that's something that can give them so much motivation, and I'm so happy to do that for the new generation.
Yeah, teeing off with her and my caddie was my coach from back home on the bag, so it felt like home. My number one goal today was to enjoy myself out there and I did, so I'm really happy about that.
Q. What is the biggest strength of Carla's game in your mind?
ANDREA REVUELTA: Carla today played incredible. I think she didn't miss one shot. She had one miss which was the second shot of No. 10. She went right and I thought she was going to make -- when I saw that shot I was like, oh, that's double bogey.
And she hit such a good approach shot and made like I don't know like a 20-footer for par. I was like, it's for her.
I mean, she played incredible. Didn't miss one shot. She also played with so much -- didn't play defensive. She played aggressive. She hit the 13th on two and hit incredible shots all over the 18 holes.
So I'm so happy for her. She played great and she's a great player.
Q. Is there something about her game that impresses you specifically?
ANDREA REVUELTA: Today for me I've seen her play a lot, and I think that I've always thought her strength was her putting, and her short putts mostly, like under like 20 feet.
But today it was everything. It had been a long time since I had played with her and I feel like she's improved as a golfer.
Her mental game, sure is really good. She stayed on top of her game the whole 18 holes. You didn't see -- she was nervous, yes, but she didn't panic.
It was a pleasure watching.
Q. Was there a lot of interaction between the two of you during the round?
ANDREA REVUELTA: We had some interaction I would say. She was also with her caddie. I was with my caddie. There was a good vibe all over. We said good shot and good shot. Yeah, I think that I'm more of a talkative person on the course than she is. It was a really nice round.
Q. What do you think this does mean for Spanish golf to have her come through like this?
ANDREA REVUELTA: I think it's so important. I mean, you see her that out of 70 players more or less, 35 I would say are from the U.S.; the internationals are a minority, and I feel like sometimes it's not actually valid how good internationals are in the U.S.
I think that this tournament really demonstrates it. Lottie, she's been out there today. She was in the mix. It was -- I was in there, too. Carla, I mean, she won. I think that's so good for European people to really, you know, see that and be like, oh, my God, this is the U.S. and the pinnacle of golf is in the U.S., but I feel like in Europe we have so many talented young girls that can achieve a lot of things.
