Quick Quotes
Q. I know probably not the round you were hoping for today, but what can you take away from this experience this week moving forward?
MEJA Ă–RTENGREN: I was just so happy to play the course again and walk these fairways with so many people watching. I think I'm very grateful to be here and to play, even though it didn't go my way.
Q. Fourth time, obviously you made the cut the first year, missed the last two and then made it this year. Does that make it even more special to be back here playing on Saturday?
MEJA Ă–RTENGREN: Yeah, it really does. Playing the practice rounds the last two years has been great, just to get a little perspective and take it all in and not having to focus on actually playing a tournament round the next day. But playing here today, I think I could enjoy it more this time than the first time around.
Q. Three birdies today for you. Is there one that stands out amongst those?
MEJA Ă–RTENGREN: The one on 3 I would say. Hit a drive, was a little bit too close to the green and hit a perfect wedge and made the putt, five-foot putt.
Q. There's been a pretty good number of birdies and lower scores out there. Can you talk about how the course played today, and are you surprised there were that many low scores out there?
MEJA Ă–RTENGREN: Not really. I think all the girls are great at golf, and I think many of the pin positions that were today is -- if you hit the right spot on the green, it kind of feeds towards the hole so you can have kind of a short putt for birdie. I think that is what the girls are doing great.
Q. Quite a few Stanford teammates here throughout the week with you; what's so special about that program?
MEJA Ă–RTENGREN: I think just being so many good players and many good people, as well. I think we all really benefit from having each other as golfers and as people standing by each other. I think we push each other every single day to become a little bit better.
