Augusta, Georgia, USA
Quick Quotes
Q. Let's start with the finish, that birdie on 18?
SCARLETT SCHREMMER: On 18, you know, the round was over. I didn't really play that well today. I just -- there were so many people around and I was just thinking I want to move the crowd, so I figured I would throw a fist pump birdie on 18. Keep it interesting.
Q. First time at Augusta. What are your impressions?
SCARLETT SCHREMMER: Yeah, Augusta has definitely left me speechless this week. So many positives off the golf course and I learned a lot about my game, too. It's definitely one of the ultimate tests of golf.
I mean, my playing partner today played fantastic, and I'm ready to get back home, keep working, and come back stronger next year.
Q. You have to tell us about your caddie. Tell us how much he knows about golf.
SCARLETT SCHREMMER: Well, she doesn't get paid very much money by me. My mom is on my bag this week. She's so knowledgeable, especially around the greens and just helped me pick the right shots. I didn't execute today, but I had the right mindset.
It's just been a blessing to have her have my back out there and not really just be a mom but one of my best friends, so it's been really special for us.
Q. And who is your mom?
SCARLETT SCHREMMER: Yeah, Patricia Ehrhart. She played on the LPGA Tour. She has her amateur status back now, but she's a great senior player and so get back out there on the competitive golf stage.
Q. Heard about surfing and heard about Jimmy Buffet. Are those things something...
SCARLETT SCHREMMER: Yeah, I grew up in Honolulu so I was a competitive surfer for most of my life, and I started playing tournament golf when I was 12, 13. Jimmy has been a great friend of my family and he has had a nice friendship with my mom as she's gotten older, just made her way through life and golf and all the things life can throw at you.
Q. How is Jimmy as a golfer? Did you caddie for him?
SCARLETT SCHREMMER: No, I didn't get to caddie for him but we played a little bit of golf together. He's a good player. He plays for the love of the game and I want to be more like him.
Q. And the highlights of your week? What did you take for you?
SCARLETT SCHREMMER: Well, I started last week at Sage Valley playing the Junior Invitational. That was special. To come in play the Augusta National Women's Amateur during Masters week, the best week of the year even if you're not at Augusta.
To be here and just see the golf course, have my game up against some of the best amateurs in the game has been really useful to me.
I know where I need to get better and where I'm strong. Really excited to keep working and like I said come back next year.
