AUGUSTA NATIONAL WOMEN'S AMATEUR

April 5, 2025

Eila Galitsky

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Did you think 6-under was possible for you today?

EILA GALITSKY: Yeah, definitely. With how I was hitting the ball today, I'm going to be honest, I should have been way lower than 6-under. I missed so many easy putts out there. I hit such great shots today. I don't even know what to say. I think I was just so in the zone today. It felt awesome out there.

Q. When you were on 12, intimidating tee shot, you hit an incredibly high ball that lands right in the middle of the green and you look over and just give a sigh of relief like man, that was scary. What was that moment like and that shot, planting it right where you wanted it?

EILA GALITSKY: I've never been dry on that shot, so my only thought was anywhere I can hit the second shot, not like a pitchy third shot on the other side of the pond.

I was trying to hit a high cut into it but it kind of just stayed dead straight. That's why it was a little long. It was all I really hoped for, just anything on the green or anything dry.

Q. Would coach Anderson have wanted that a little lower?

EILA GALITSKY: Probably, be but we won't tell her that.

Q. Today to finish the way you did, how proud are you of your performance this week?

EILA GALITSKY: It's awesome. I'm so happy the team got to watch, got to come and support. Honestly, I think that's what made me feel so comfortable out here is just having their support, and playing Augusta National is great, but when you play 6-under par, I think it's a bit better.

Q. Is it wild to walk off -- how do you manage your emotions? Are you in some way disappointed of man, I left a lot out there but also proud of, hey, 6-under at Augusta National?

EILA GALITSKY: Honestly, more disappointed than proud right now and very hungry. Yeah, I just had so many putts. Like the first four holes, I think I had birdie putts inside 10 feet, and I missed all of them. It's disappointing, but you know, I still played great.

Q. Have you always been incredibly honest, candid?

EILA GALITSKY: I think honesty is the best policy. I know some people say I'm a little harsh, but I think I'm funny.

Q. When you're on these member tees, how much does your length help you, and is there anywhere you're like, man, I can really attack here because of my length?

EILA GALITSKY: Yeah, I think most of the holes, like 1, I was trying to hit a cut over the bunker. I managed to do that. I only had like 70 yards to the pin. 2, I can hit over the bunker. Mostly I can carry the bunker.

On 18, I didn't think I would be able to carry the bunker, but I think adrenaline and everything, so I kind of carried the bunker there, too.

Q. Last year you would have finished up here -- I don't know what you would have done, but what did you do last year, and now how do you transition and try to build off this for the college season?

EILA GALITSKY: I'm just going to go back, work on the parts that I was missing, which is basically my putting, and I'm very excited for post season for college. I think we have a great team this year, and I'm really hoping we do something special.

Q. What are you going to do for the next couple hours?

EILA GALITSKY: Yeah, I'm going to stick around. Right now I'm going to go watch my teammate finish up. I'm going to probably eat because I'm starving and the food here is amazing.
