Quick Quotes
Q. Asterisk, how important is this in your preparation to come out here on a quiet day and chart your way around here?
ASTERISK TALLEY: It's super important getting to know the course when you know there's no spectators out here trying to put pressure on you. You kind of just, it's you and the course, and you kind of get to learn a lot about it.
Q. Is there anything you picked up in particular today?
ASTERISK TALLEY: Just like you really need to learn the fairways. When you hit a bad shot, what you can do to get out of that position. I think just knowing which way to favor your shots is really crucial into playing this tournament.
Q. A lot's happened for you in your career since last time you played here. Can you describe how different you are perhaps as a golfer than you were maybe a year ago at this time?
ASTERISK TALLEY: I don't think much has changed with my game and my mindset. I think I've just kind of matured, and my game has matured in a way that I think has given me confidence in this event.
Q. How has it matured?
ASTERISK TALLEY: I think just knowing where my game is at the moment. Last year I was just kind of clueless, and I know now that I can come out here and shoot a good score and do what I need to do.
Q. Do you have a different mindset entering this final round? You're obviously a couple strokes closer to Lottie than you were last year. Do you feel different about your prospects for tomorrow?
ASTERISK TALLEY: I think so. I think now I'm trying to go out there and get the win and trying to play my best score out here. Last year I was just kind of trying to have fun because I was pretty far from the lead.
This year I'm trying to get out there and shoot a great score.
Q. What would it mean to get the win?
ASTERISK TALLEY: It would mean everything to me, just like it is for everyone out here. It means the world to everybody. I think it would just mean a lot for my career in the future, and it would mean a lot for me now.
Q. How crucial is that five-footer you made last year on your last hole the second round to get a place in the final round here and have a tournament round under your belt going in?
ASTERISK TALLEY: I know it was scary, but it was * super really, really good for my confidence going into Saturday and knowing that I played a tournament round at Augusta.
I don't think -- I tried to stay calm over that putt, but it was definitely a big putt for this event, and I think it brought me a lot of confidence going into Saturday.
Q. What is your comfort level going into tomorrow? Do you feel confident about what you can do?
ASTERISK TALLEY: Yeah, I feel like I'm very comfortable around this course. It's a very -- it's not a very forgiving course, but it's super fun to play all the time.
So I think I'm very comfortable going into tomorrow, knowing where my game is and where I am in the tournament.
