Q. I just told Carlota that she advanced. She has no idea really how the match ahead stood. Thoughts on making it to the 16?

CARLOTA CIGANDA: Amazing. I knew I had a really tough match obviously against Lydia. I just told her, I mean, she's not even just an amazing player, but just such a good person. Like it's been a very great match. Like both we played great. And it was one of the toughest matches on the conditions with this wind gusting a lot. Just a really hard course.

I'm happy I played really good and happy to make to the weekend.

Q. She has a strong resume, but you have a very strong match play resume. Why are you such a good match player?

CARLOTA CIGANDA: For me match play feels like a Sunday and I love tough. Like I love like when I play in Spain against Nelly Korda, today against Lydia Ko, Hall of Famer. Tough really motivates me. I like when it's a challenge. That's what I told my caddie. I know I need to play my best, but I think that's why I play golf, to feel what I play today and to play against the best players in the world.
