Quick Quotes
Q. I wanted to ask how this week has been for you, being out here for the first time and getting to play this course?
AVERY McCRERY: I played it twice last week, so I had a decently good idea of what it was going to play like when I was here this week, which I think was good preparing me, trying to help me handle all the nerves and everything.
Obviously didn't play the best on the back nine today, but I am very proud of how I continued fighting, didn't give up. I'm just really happy that I get to be here and experience this. It's a dream come true, and I'm just going to enjoy it as much as I can.
Q. Obviously a tough ending, but no matter what, you'll be at Augusta National tomorrow for a final practice round. How does it feel? Today is your birthday; tomorrow you get to go to Augusta National. What are you looking forward to about it?
AVERY McCRERY: Honestly, just soaking in the whole experience. I'm probably going to try to be out there as long as I can tomorrow, take the full advantage of it.
It's obviously one of the best birthday gifts you can imagine. Obviously making the cut would have made it sweeter. I'm still super grateful to be able to go play there and be there tomorrow, be on Augusta. Just being there it's incredible, so I am just excited to be there and I'll be trying to enjoy the experience tomorrow.
Q. Is there a specific hole that you're especially looking forward to?
AVERY McCRERY: I don't know. I think the tee shot on 18 is going to be cool to hit. I want to hit that. It looks really nerve-racking in pictures and on TV.
So I just want to see it in person, and that way, if it's not nerve-racking, I can watch TV and be like you guys are idiots. This is an easy tee shot or something like that.
Just try to have fun with it, obviously enjoy the experience. I'm sure I'll get more memorable spots out there tomorrow, remember them.
Q. You struggled a little bit on the back nine. How do you keep your emotions in check knowing what's on the line?
AVERY McCRERY: It's really hard especially because there's like giant leaderboards everywhere, so you always sort of know where you are.
For me it's just knowing that all I can do is give my best on each shot, and what happens is going to happen. So it's just trying to focus on where you are in the now, not think too much big picture, and just give it your best all the way through.
