AUGUSTA NATIONAL WOMEN'S AMATEUR

April 1, 2025

Hannah Darling

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Fourth time; is that right?

HANNAH DARLING: Yeah.

Q. What's it like coming back here for a fourth time? How are you feeling heading into the week?

HANNAH DARLING: Yeah, I'm just excited overall. This is the best event of the year, so just really excited to be back. But also obviously have a lot of experience under my belt. Definitely feel more prepared than the first year I was out here. But it's nice.

Practice round was pretty easy today, just familiarize yourself with the course, and there's a couple of trees down here and there, but I love being back at this event, and it's going to be a special week.

Q. Did you do anything differently today kind of knowing what you know ahead of tomorrow while you were practicing?

HANNAH DARLING: I think, first of all, we know where the pins have been for the last couple of years and they're always in a very similar place, so I'll just be playing to those pins and that sort of stuff. But it's really just trying to treat it like any other practice round and any other tournament.

Q. What are you looking forward to most over the next couple of days here?

HANNAH DARLING: You know, just the experience. Champions Retreat is an awesome golf course. Augusta National is obviously Augusta National. Just getting to really enjoy the courses and the experience has been -- and just being out there with my caddie and just really trying to take all of that in, yeah, it's going to be a really, really fun time.

Q. Are you and Lottie good friends at all from growing up?

HANNAH DARLING: Yeah, we are, and we obviously played the Curtis Cup together last year, so yeah.

Q. Her winning last year, what did that mean as somebody that knows her outside of golf a little bit?

HANNAH DARLING: Yeah, it was awesome to see her play well, and to see her play especially well at Augusta National was really cool. I think just as well for British golf, it was really nice to see someone do it and someone win.

No, it was just really nice and really good to see for her. She's been playing awesome.

Q. How about your game coming in? How has your college season been and how do you feel like you've prepared for this week?

HANNAH DARLING: I feel very prepared. I feel like I've been playing very well the last couple of months. I think my game has been brewing pretty nicely, and I'm ready to just perform. But I think the other thing is trying to treat it like any other event and not put too much pressure on it. But yeah, I'm in a really good place, so excited to just go hit some good golf shots.

Q. Do you have family here this week cheering you on?

HANNAH DARLING: I have a big Scottish clan with us this week. We've got six that flew over from Scotland, which includes my parents, and then the whole South Carolina team will be here on Saturday, which is a big group of people. But it's going to be awesome just to have that much support. It's really nice.

Q. What does that mean for you to have that many familiar faces out there when you're playing?

HANNAH DARLING: It's nice. Augusta on Saturday is crazy. There's thousands of people out there. So just being able to look over and see someone familiar is just a really settling thing. It makes you just feel really comfortable. But it's just also nice, I've not seen my parents for a couple months, so it's really nice to see them again. Yeah, it's cool.

Q. Who do you have on the bag for you the next couple of days?

HANNAH DARLING: I have Jonathan Burnett who is one of my teammates' dads, so he's got some experience in golf and had some careers in golf. He brings a lot of knowledge on to the bag, and I had him on the bag last year, too, which worked really well. So it's going to be fun with him.

Q. Any advice? I think there's like 30 plus first-timers this week. What would you say to them as they prepare for competition?

HANNAH DARLING: I think I would just say play smart. I can't give too much away, but play smart. That would be my tip.
