AUGUSTA NATIONAL WOMEN'S AMATEUR

April 1, 2025

Anna Davis

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Anna, welcome back. How do you feel about your game going into this week?

ANNA DAVIS: I feel pretty good. Everything is very solid. I'm coming off of a win at Colonial last week against a pretty good field. Yeah, I feel good. I've been putting in a lot of work. We've had a very busy season with college golf.

Yeah, I think I feel pretty good. Game is solid.

Q. How is the course playing out there, and did you notice any kind of changes since the hurricane came through?

ANNA DAVIS: Yeah, since the storm, there's, like, two big differences. Obviously hole 4, that giant tree is out of the way. I can say I'm pretty happy about it. I know they're probably not too happy about it, but that hole is hard.

Then hole 15, we can carry the bunkers now. Just a few different, where you can kind of hit a freer shot a little bit. It's not as difficult. Yeah, but it's pretty open. Like you can tell that they lost a few trees and stuff. But I don't think it's playing that much easier or anything.

Q. As far as your college year, your season so far, are you happy with how you're playing in college?

ANNA DAVIS: Yeah, I had a good spring last year for the most part. I had a great fall this fall. Kind of got off to a rough start this spring, but I feel like my game is trending, so that's always good.

But yeah, I feel like my game is trending in the right direction. The coaches that I have at Auburn and the facilities that we have, it's hard to not see a difference in your game. But we have a lot of resources, and I feel like I have gotten better since I've been at college.

Q. Of all the years you've played here and competed, what have you learned that you're going to take to this year?

ANNA DAVIS: I mean, I feel like there isn't a shot that I haven't hit out here. But it's a super difficult golf course. There's a lot of shots where you can't lose focus on, especially the last five holes on each side when you're coming down the stretch. I think there's just -- it's a very mentally challenging golf course, and I think a lot of it is you just have to stay very steady and kind of stay present in the moment and not think about the cut line or anything like that or making it to Augusta because that just makes it harder to play good golf.

I think just taking it one shot at a time out here is very important.

Q. Do you think your experience as a former champ helps you or gives you an advantage out here?

ANNA DAVIS: I mean, I think so a little bit. Again, it's been a different golf course I feel like every year that I've played it. Just kind of conditions and they put us on different tee boxes and things like that. Again, I feel like I've hit a lot of shots out here, which helps. So yeah.

Q. Who's on your bag this week?

ANNA DAVIS: David Reynolds. He's the caddie master at Augusta. He's pretty cool. He caddied for me in Canada a few months ago, this summer, and yeah, he's been a huge help, and he's great. I'm excited to have him out here.

Q. Was he on your bag previously out here?

ANNA DAVIS: No, he hasn't been. It'll be good. Excited.
