CASTROL RISING STARS POSTGAME

February 14, 2025

Leonard Miller

San Francisco, California, USA

Team G League

Press Conference

Q. Talk about the work you've put in to get to this point.

LEONARD MILLER: The work that I've put in, it's always such a good opportunity to get a chance to perform on this stage. So, I feel like what was flowing for me tonight was just dedication and desire I put in in the gym to my craft.

Q. How special was it to be around guys who are so talented as well?

LEONARD MILLER: It's a special feeling. It's good to share the court with my peers, people I know, people I don't know to now create bonds that will last forever.

I had a lot of fun. My teammates had a lot of fun. A game like that is so much fun, and it was high intensity with both sides trying to win, just having fun competing.

We had a speech before the game started, and we carried it, and I feel like we found ourselves.

Q. Did you lead the speech?

LEONARD MILLER: No. So, the Commissioner came in alongside Shaun Livingston and others to just give us words of encouragement and to go out there with something like that to look forward to.

Q. How well have you and Zach Edey connected over the years? How well do you guys know each other?

LEONARD MILLER: We don't know each other too well. I haven't really been in an environment with him to kind of create that bond. But I see stuff with him, he sees stuff with me. We kind of have been knowing each other through the Canadian basketball environment.

Q. What does it mean for you to be on this stage to represent Canada in that way? Where do you think Canadian basketball stands?

LEONARD MILLER: I feel like we're putting the world on notice. I'm another Canadian that now many of our fans will see. So, I'm glad to get a chance like this to show the world. There's so many people watching around the world to see a game like this.

Everything is just truly a blessing. I'm truly honored to get called here and get a chance to go out there and do what I love doing.

Q. Where do you think you're at in terms of your development as far as maybe becoming a part of the rotation at some point and staying when that opportunity presents itself? Where do you think you're at in terms of your personal arc right now?

LEONARD MILLER: I mean, I've never really got a chance to perform on this stage with my teammates and my guys out there. I still try to do my best and grind and put in the work to get my game to where I want it to be. But in terms of getting minutes and playing on the court, it just hasn't happened yet.

So I'm sure I'll get my chance in the future. I know I will because of the person I am and my belief in myself and the hard work that I put into my craft.
