Michael Kim

Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

TPC Scottsdale

Quick Quotes

Q. Michael, top 3 finish here; what does it mean to have this result at this point in the year, and what can you take from this year moving forward?

MICHAEL KIM: Yeah, I obviously played some really, really good golf. Only one bogey for the week. That was basically a three-putt. It was a fun last two days, other than Thomas and maybe Daniel is probably the only guys I lost to. Really proud of this week, and hopefully I can do a couple better the next time around.

Q. I know you mentioned a thought you found on the range yesterday. What was the nature of that thought, or is it a private type of thought?

MICHAEL KIM: No, just getting on my right side a little bit better is basically the thought that helped me out after Friday.

Q. Did that help today, too?

MICHAEL KIM: Yeah, definitely. I felt pretty good over all my shots today and played a really solid round of golf.

Q. Is that a general tenet of this game that sometimes it can be a very small thing that can put you in a better frame of mind?

MICHAEL KIM: Yeah, I knew I was swinging it well, but in tournament golf your body reacts a little bit differently here and there, and to figure that part out was really good.

Q. Have you ever met Thomas Detry or played with him?

MICHAEL KIM: Yeah, I played with him the last few years on TOUR. His Illinois team beat our Cal team during the semifinals in 2013. Got me again, I guess.

Q. About the Aon Swing 5, you're in that, going back to Torrey. What's it mean to get another crack at Torrey next week at the Genesis?

MICHAEL KIM: Yeah, I didn't play too well at the Farmers, but whenever I can play a tournament at Torrey Pines where I grew up playing it's a special week for me.

Q. What's your favorite part of Torrey Pines?

MICHAEL KIM: Just the nostalgia I get walking down those fairways when I was 13, 14, 15, 16 years old, and to actually play the tournament is a really cool feeling.
