AFRICA AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

February 7, 2025

Keegan Shutt

Malelane, Mpumalanga, South Africa

Quick Quotes

Q. A 6-under par 66 today. First of all, how are you feeling after that performance?

KEEGAN SHUTT: I'm feeling very good. Kept a very steady mind out there today. Went bogey-free, so enjoyed that very much. Yeah, making bogeys ain't fun, so I'm glad I didn't make a bogey.

Apart from that, just try to do the same thing tomorrow and see how it goes.

Q. What is it about Leopard Creek that brings the best out of your game? Last year you obviously had that 62. 66 today. You're back in contention, within touching distance of the leaders. What is it about Leopard Creek that brings the best out of you?

KEEGAN SHUTT: I don't know. I think this is one of these courses where things start going right for me, they just keep on going, and then I just continue to make birdies and just hold it together. When I do get going on this course like I've done before, it just continues to go like that.

Q. The aim tomorrow is to go on a similar run?

KEEGAN SHUTT: Yeah, for sure. If I can do the same as today, I'll be very happy.

Q. What is the game plan tomorrow? Is it just same as how you approached today?

KEEGAN SHUTT: Yeah. If I can do what I did today, I'll be very happy. The putter was hot today, which it wasn't in the first two days, so if the putter continues to stay hot, I think it'll be a good day again tomorrow.
