Quick Quotes
Q. Bobbi, back to compete in the Africa Amateur Women's Invitational again this year. How much are you looking forward to this week?
BOBBI BROWN: I've been looking forward to it since the final round last year.
Q. You came runner-up last year, so obviously close to winning the event. What did you learn last year about Leopard Creek and the experience of playing with the other competitors?
BOBBI BROWN: Well, I had a lot of fun last year. It was a bit of a struggle for the first two rounds getting used to playing the course, but I learned to respect the course by the final day. Yeah, I attacked the par-5s and I made quite a few birdies, so it was good.
Q. We've talked about this the other round. Since last year you've performed really well at the start. This year you've won two events. Do you feel your game is moving in the right direction now?
BOBBI BROWN: Yeah, definitely. Last week was my lowest ever finish in a tournament, 14-under, by quite a while, as well. It definitely is moving in the right direction.
Q. How much do events like this matter to Africa in general in terms of the development of golf and the continent? How important are these events like the Africa Amateur?
BOBBI BROWN: Well, if it wasn't for this, I think the best of -- South Africa we have good tournaments, but there's nothing really that can compare to the scale of this and especially for the rest of boys and girls in Africa. Yeah, they must look forward to this as much as we do. We look forward to it a lot, as well.
Q. There's a lot of exemptions on the line for the winner of the women's invitational. What would it mean to get those opportunities to compete in both professional and amateur events?
BOBBI BROWN: Yeah, it's obviously a big incentive to do well here, but try not to think about it too much. Feel like it adds a bit of pressure to the whole week. But of course it would be amazing to get all of those starts in professional events.
Q. How much do you enjoy playing alongside your fellow counterparts? There are obviously other women players from the Golf South Africa programme. How much do you enjoy being part of that group and playing together and competing together?
BOBBI BROWN: We have a really, really nice bunch of girls at the moment. Everyone is super supportive of each other, and Zané always gives me a jungle roar even when we are walking down the last hole competing against each other. Like everyone has got each other's back, so it's really fun.
Q. If you were to go one better this week and lift the trophy, how would that feel?
BOBBI BROWN: Of course it would be amazing. I really hope that's what happens, and I'll be very proud.
