ZURICH CLASSIC OF NEW ORLEANS

April 26, 2024

David Lipsky

Aaron Rai

Avondale, Louisiana, USA

TPC Louisiana

Press Conference

Q. 2-under 70 with tough conditions with the wind out there. David, we'll start with you. Just comment on your round.

DAVID LIPSKY: Yeah, it was tough out there. I didn't hit the best shots today, but I felt like I holed some key putts when I needed to and sort of kept our round going and allowed Aaron to free him up and to fire some pins.

Q. Aaron, talk a little bit about your game today and the team as a whole.

AARON RAI: Pretty similar. I think we were definitely a little more on the conservative side, and I think the conditions played a part in doing that in some tough pin positions, but we hit some good shots out there.

As Dave said, some really good up-and-downs. Dave made some great putts just to keep the momentum going. So we stuck in there really well today and hit some good shots when we needed to. I think anything under par today is a pretty good score.

Q. Currently the top of the leaderboard. A lot of golf left to play today, but just talk a little bit about your strategy now as you head back to four-ball tomorrow.

DAVID LIPSKY: I think it's a little bit dependent on the conditions tomorrow. It's supposed to be a little breezy, but four-ball is the day you make up ground, make a ton of birdies and try to give yourself a little bit of a cushion. I think that's our main focus going into tomorrow.

Q. 18 a little bit of a hiccup. How important was it to make bogey there?

DAVID LIPSKY: Yeah, it was nice for me to make that putt after I double-crossed that drive off the tee. That wasn't fun, I'll be honest.

We played solid today. Mistakes will happen, especially when it's this breezy.

Q. When you make that putt on 18, is that a little bit of a momentum builder for tomorrow knowing you're not coming off of a double?

DAVID LIPSKY: Definitely, definitely.

AARON RAI: 100 percent. As Dave mentioned, we're playing 72 holes together, we're always going to hit some poor shots in there. That's just a part of it. Yeah, nice to recover, hit some good shots into 18, and Dave made a great putt there to make bogey. So definitely some momentum going into tomorrow.
