ZURICH CLASSIC OF NEW ORLEANS

April 25, 2024

David Lipsky

Aaron Rai

Avondale, Louisiana, USA

TPC Louisiana

Press Conference

Q. 11-under, currently tied for the lead. What are some of the key moments out there for each of you?

DAVID LIPSKY: I think we did a really good job today. I think there's only one hole that we both birdied, so whenever Aaron was in the hole and I was out of the hole, he was making birdies. Whenever he was sort of out of the hole putting for pars, I was making birdies. It worked out really well today.

Q. Aaron, one of those days where you make a key putt here and there and it can kind of keep the momentum going. What were some of the things that stood out to you?

AARON RAI: Yeah, 100 percent. We got off to a really good start, and as Dave mentioned, when I birdied a hole, Dave kind of stepped in right on the next. We kind of fed off each other really well. I guess that's what team golf is about.

Yeah, we got the momentum going pretty early and just kind of kept it flowing throughout the round. Had a good section in the middle, and Dave finished off great in the last three holes. It was pretty even between us, and yeah, just kind of fed off each other and kept the round going really nicely.

Q. How did this pairing come together? I know you've both played a lot on the DP World Tour. How has that led into this partnership here?

DAVID LIPSKY: Yeah, we knew each other from DP World Tour. We were both out there at the same time. We both got our cards out here at the same time.

At the time my old caddie stayed with his caddie all the time, and we just sort of put it together that way. But it worked out, and we just kept it going.

Q. How mentally is it good for you guys to post a number like that knowing you're going into the foursomes tomorrow where you really have to be precise? Going into tonight, how satisfying is that after one round?

AARON RAI: Yeah, definitely. Obviously the four-ball is the most scorable format, and anytime you get off to a good start in a tournament, it certainly makes it a little bit easier going into the second round and then beyond that.

Yeah, it was nice to see some putts go in today. Nice to both play some really good golf. That's something we can take into tomorrow and the rest of the week past that.
