MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 14, 2024

Joaquin Niemann

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Just to sum up the week, you came in on a special invite. How would you sum up this week?

JOAQUIN NIEMANN: Obviously I would love to be on a Sunday afternoon having a chance to win, but other than that, it's always a great week here at the Masters. I enjoyed it.

I didn't hit it my best, which I think that's why I didn't -- I couldn't score. Yeah, I think you're going to have weeks where it goes your way and some of them doesn't. So it was one of those that didn't.

Q. You haven't had many weeks like that since several months. Was it kind of a surprise, or is this a course that whatever form you come in doesn't really matter?

JOAQUIN NIEMANN: Yeah, I don't really think -- I mean, last year I wasn't playing great, and I was having a better chance on Sunday than I did this year. That tells you that it doesn't really matter. It just tells you what golf is, you know. You never know until -- you can make something happen at any time.

That's the main goal, just keep knocking on the door, keep practicing and keep learning, and it will come.

Q. How would you sum up, in terms of like reception you got this week, the way you were treated by the Masters folks? I'm sure they were happy to see you.

JOAQUIN NIEMANN: It was great. The reception was obviously awesome, and they always treat us amazing here at the Masters, especially for the players and families. I felt like it was an even more special one because I was invited from the Masters, which I feel like is really special.

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with the week, and I enjoyed my time here with my team and my family, and we'll come back for the next year.

Q. How much did you learn about the course and about how you need to manage Augusta National? Was it a good learning experience from that standpoint?

JOAQUIN NIEMANN: I think you're learning. Obviously I didn't feel like I was hitting my best, and I was trying to still be aggressive during the last two days. Yeah, I feel like you play a little bit different if you're in contention, probably wouldn't go at the pin on 12. There's a few lines on the tee and second shots that you're a little more conservative. But knowing that I needed to do something, I just went a little bit more aggressive.

Q. You just mentioned about coming back next year. Right now there's no guarantees.

JOAQUIN NIEMANN: We'll find a way.
