MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 13, 2024

Ludvig Aberg

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. What is best in the game?

LUDVIG Ã…BERG: In my game? I meant to go at the ball. (Swedish).

Q. Do you think all the reps you got in Lubbock, Texas, has helped you in the wind here in Augusta this week?

LUDVIG Ã…BERG: Yeah, we were actually saying that yesterday, that it was a normal day in Lubbock. Obviously we played in a lot of wind in Lubbock and yesterday was the same.

I'm not sure if that really translates, but I guess I'm a little bit more used to it.

Q. Now that you're one round away and in the mix, what do you feel like you did well this week and to continue to do well tomorrow?

LUDVIG Ã…BERG: I think what me and Joe have been doing, we're both very disciplined. We're not trying to force anything. We're not trying to go for pins, and we're not trying to make decisions that will cost us, I guess.

We're trying to take calculated risks all the time. I feel like we've been very disciplined toward our targets, and hopefully we'll be able to do that again tomorrow.

Q. Your first career major championship. How do you keep from thinking about how big this is and just staying in the moment?

LUDVIG Ã…BERG: Yeah, I think about it all the time. I'm okay thinking about it. Obviously I'm a competitor and I want to win tournaments. I feel very fortunate to be in this position and to be here playing golf.

Yes, I don't think you should shy away from it. I don't think you should try to push it away. I try to embrace it, and I try to be okay with all that comes with it, I guess.

Q. Have you thought about how to approach tomorrow and the scoring setup where you don't have traditional -- knowing what's happening in realtime?

LUDVIG Ã…BERG: Yeah, obviously keep an eye on the leaderboard and see where we're at. Yeah, obviously you can't really play Augusta in a different way even though you have to. I think you're never trying to force anything. You're always trying to put yourself in the right positions and try to make the putts.

I think that's what we're going to try to do tomorrow even if we're tied for the lead or two back or four back, I guess.

Q. What's kind of been your -- this experience, in terms of the things you always hear about, the roars and kind of wondering what's going on and who's doing what? How has that been for you?

LUDVIG Ã…BERG: It's really cool. Me and Joe were talking about it walking up 18. One of the coolest things are the really long shadows you see. Those are pretty iconic for Augusta. We're walking down No. 10 and walking up 18 and you see those really long shadows. It's really cool to, first off, experience it and see it firsthand.

Q. What stresses you out the most in life do you think? Clearly golf doesn't on the outside.

LUDVIG Ã…BERG: Golf stresses me out. It does. I think there's a lot of things that stress me out. I'm just pretty good at managing it, I guess.

I tend to -- whenever I get stressed, I get a little bit quick at times. It happens in my golf swing. It happens the way I walk, the way I talk, and all these things. I just try to manage it the best I can and be okay with those things, I guess.

Q. What's a shot you want back from today?

LUDVIG Ã…BERG: There's a few shots obviously every round that you want to do better. I felt like I executed a lot of good shots today. I guess maybe some of those chips or putts off the green on 14 or 15, if I were to be picky.

Obviously I wouldn't do it very different if I played it again. That's why I'm okay with those things.
