MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 13, 2024

Joaquin Niemann

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Been a tough grind the last three days. What do you expect for the final round?

JOAQUIN NIEMANN: Yeah, it was obviously a super tough day, especially yesterday. Yeah, obviously this course, if you're a little bit off position, you've got to really grind it to get up-and-downs.

I struggled a little bit there today, but it was a good run. I made birdies when I needed to, and then I made a few extra bogeys.

Q. Just looking ahead to the final round tomorrow, what would you want to achieve out of it?

JOAQUIN NIEMANN: Hopefully go super low and you never know. I don't know. There's a lot I have to do tomorrow. Obviously looking forward to have a good day, make a lot of birdies, and end well at the Masters.

Q. How did today compare to yesterday course condition-wise?

JOAQUIN NIEMANN: It's a lot easier. It was so tough yesterday to just trust the wind, and also putting on these greens, they're kind of quick. There are some slopes there that the wind really takes a big roll on the green.

So I think making putts and chipping and everything was a lot tougher.

Q. Is it fun when it's like that, miserable, exhausting? How would you describe it?

JOAQUIN NIEMANN: It was miserable. Yeah, I was not having a great time on the golf course. When I finished, I was a little bit exhausted about it. Good thing I kind of went back and tried to see what I did wrong or why it took me so much energy on those holes.

I think just try to understand how tough it is. We were talking with Jon Rahm this morning that it was crazy. On No. 11 the cut was 3-over when we were there and half of the field was already done, and it ended up being 6-over, which is pretty crazy.
