Q. When you play in the wind like this, what's the most important thing?

ERIC COLE: I'd say to try and figure out a direction and then make sure you hit it solidly because, if you mis-hit it, it kind of accentuates the wind, and the ball can get going in the wrong spots for sure.

Q. If you are playing well, scraping it pretty good, you've got a lot of confidence, do you almost -- I don't want to say you want this wind, but you're okay with the wind because you know it might separate the field?

ERIC COLE: Yeah, I think that's something that happens. When you're playing well, I wouldn't -- I would just like to be playing well is the main thing. I don't think it makes a huge difference what the conditions are like, but definitely there's a little bit where, when it does get like this, the field will separate a little bit.

If you play well, you can still shoot an okay score, and if you play bad, you're going to shoot pretty high.

Q. Which shot was the most daunting for you? I know the wind is different every morning, but which shot is the most daunting?

ERIC COLE: Probably the shot on 11, second shot on 11, it's into the wind and gusting. You're elevated, so you're hitting downhill also. If you get that one going a little bit wrong, it can really get going sideways or come up way short or something.

Q. What did you do on 15?

ERIC COLE: I hit a decent shot on the front right fringe. I was pretty happy with it. It wasn't anything special, but I got it down near in play near the green. So that was the goal.

Q. Coming in, do you know what you wanted to do? Are you real pleased right now with where you are?

ERIC COLE: Yeah, overall I played pretty well, I think. A couple little mistakes where maybe I don't have as much experience out here as some other guys. 14, I messed up today. I was very happy with the way I played.

It's just so special to be here, and it's a cool spot. To be able to play the weekend is going to make it even more special.
