MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 9, 2024

Min Woo Lee

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Min Woo, big time playing, how does it feel to be back here?

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, it's amazing. Was feeling under the weather so I couldn't get out yesterday. Played with the boys today.

Yeah, it was incredible. It's always nice to come back here and play one of my favorite courses in the world.

Q. What do you brand yourselves as?

MIN WOO LEE: Just the Aussies. Yeah, there is not too many Aussies out here this week, so it's nice to be bunched up and have -- I guess be a bit more comfortable out there approximate learn from the best.

Q. Different conditions today than yesterday. Obviously conditions are going to chop and change around here. How did the course feel out there today?

MIN WOO LEE: Course felt nice. Nothing strange. It was -- if you hit a low one you could skip it. If you hit a high one you can stop it.

So there wasn't -- not much out there that was strange. It was pretty straightforward and pretty enjoyable. Greens were somewhat quick.

Q. Hands feeling all right, feeling good?

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, I hurt my hand last week. Broke it. But, yeah, I have it bandaged up right now. You know, I hit my first shot for the last week on Friday, so hit my first full driver. Yeah, honestly, it's actually amazing how fast the recovery was. It was bruised, still swollen, but not actually that painful which is really strange.

Somehow recovering very good, so icing and elevating as much as I can. Yeah, I guess it wasn't the best prep, and I go the flu two days ago. Yeah, it's going great.

Q. What happened?

MIN WOO LEE: I dropped a dumb bell on my hand.

Q. When did that happen?

MIN WOO LEE: I was in the gym on I think Saturday. Yeah, Saturday last week. I was just doing like a side bridge glute thing and it was literally my last rep, last set thing, and I like threw the dumb bell down and somehow clipped my right ring finger so it --

Q. It broke?

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, so I went to the doctor. Went to the doctor and I thought it was okay because I could move it. It was just red. I thought it would be fine. Then they came in and said, you've broken it.

So, yeah, a lot of anxiety. This is the first time telling the public. We didn't know as a team to tell or to not, and I felt like I should tell people because there was a lot of the pressure on me I guess playing well.

Honestly, felt nearly up to scratch to where it was when I saw you. So it was -- yeah, I mean, recovery was very miraculously good.

Q. Maybe stay off the weights for a while then.

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, I mean, I still went to the gym last week as much as I could. Obviously didn't do that exercise.

Every time I looked at that 20 pound dumb bell, yeah, gave it a death stare.

Q. You came back here for a third time. Still soaking up as much as you did the first time?

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, of course. I mean, not getting sick of it. I hope I don't for the rest of my life. It is a very special place, and really grateful to be here.

Q. Feel like your finger is affecting you?

MIN WOO LEE: No, that's the funny thing. Early on I was hitting chip shots and stuff, like few days afterwards, and it was pretty average.

Yeah, I mean, I played a full nine holes and hit some decent shots so, again, just surprised. Yeah. I think it was very lucky. It was a very lucky -- it was probably the best worst thing.

Q. You love the big times, big occasions were how is this going?

MIN WOO LEE: It's all the way up there. It's my favorite place in the world. It's just a place of visualization and all that. I really enjoy it. Not many straight shots or straight things out here, so I like to see the shape. It's awesome.

Q. Fun on 16. Who's caddie...

MIN WOO LEE: It was Jason's caddie, Luke. Yeah, probably one of the funniest things I've ever seen. It was funny because I was standing on this side and he hit it straight in the water like five meters in front of him. I looked towards him but the crowd is all looking at the green.

I was acting like it was up in to the air but it just went straight in the water.

Q. Four big names. How much did you feed off each other and spur each other on?

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, no, these three guys are one of the best guys out here. So, no, it's always nice to play with guys that are open to giving me information and if I ask, they would help me.

Yeah, obviously they're great golfers so just looking on the them and watching them play, it's amazing.

Q. You're pretty close mates?

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah.

Q. (Indiscernible.)

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, no, we just sent a text. I think Scottie initiated first last week about a practice round. That's how late I guess we organize things.

But yeah, we all were on par with it. We said, 1:00, back nine. It was nice.

Q. (Regarding preparation and feeling crook.)

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, you're going to hear it from my voice. I'm not 100% yet. Other than that, I'm actually very -- yeah, I feel very all right. Could have been a lot worse.

I'm pretty happy to be standing here and especially playing nine holes and give it 100%. Yeah, it was actually really good. Yeah.
