FORD CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY KCC

March 29, 2024

Hannah Green

Gilbert, Arizona, USA

Seville Golf and Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Hannah Green, just talking about it, 61, a new career low for you. What was the mindset heading into today knowing full well that there is low scores everywhere?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I wasn't really feeling that great overnight. Kind of have a bit of a runny nose and sore throat, so wasn't expecting that much which is maybe a good thing.

I missed short putt on the first and I was like, oh, okay, that's fine. I really took advantage of the shorter holes we had. I also holed a couple really long putts. Maybe even moved the hole. It was that firm.

But just felt really good out there. Yeah, just had a really nice morning.

Q. A lot of one-putts on the day there, especially as it concerns your -- when you talk about those long putts, what were some of the longest putts our you had out there?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I holed a really good putt on 17. It was probably 25 feet up the hill, and that was the one that hit quite firm, so luckily it was kind of dead center otherwise I probably would've been motoring past.

But I just made some good momentum putts. Made a really good par on 9. Holed maybe a six-footer there.

I think making those little putts is just as good as make the 20-, 25-footers.

Q. Have you ever had that happen in a round, six consecutive, or have you felt that comfortable on a course like that in a while?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, no, not for a while. When we play in Asia the scoring is low, but with how the golf course is set up this week it's definitely gettable. Obviously you still have to do it.

I did hole a couple short putts that I was able to hit close for birdie and a couple 10-footers. It's nice to see the ball go in and the reads that I had were correct.

Yesterday I actually didn't feel like I played that much different. I just read the greens a little better and hit putts that obviously went in.

Q. When the momentum starts to go, do you find yourself, okay, calm down a second here. Let's...

HANNAH GREEN: I think a little bit, yeah. So the putt that I had on the last, it hit the lip, so it could have possibly been a 60. Okay, I've got a three-footer back up the hill. Like don't want to get ahead of myself.

Obviously the conditions for the weekend are going to be different to what we have had the last two days, so just got to make sure I don't get too high and bring myself back to earth and get ready for the next two days.

Q. You missed a short one on 1 and a lipout in 18, I mean, that's a 59, right?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, no, when you think of like that, yes. I did hole a lot of good putts and had a couple that just hang on the edge and fell in.

So I'm very pleased with my round.

Q. Curious about the Olympics. Is that on your goal sheet for the year?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, definitely. I got the opportunity to represent Australia in Tokyo in 2021, so that was a huge honor to do that. I played pretty decent. I came in top 10.

It was nice to be able to have that experience, but Paris I feel like will be an amazing experience because hopefully there is no COVID, nothing that's going to stop us from competing.

But I just have to do what I have to do. If the other players play well, that's what they're also trying to achieve.

Q. There is talk of a mixed event next time. Is that something that gets you going?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, that's something I was hoping they would do for this year. It was really cool with Cam and Marc Leisch and the team last Olympics. We got hang out with them a couple nights. It was just fun to interact with them, because our schedules don't really collide too much. Even though we play a couple events in Australia, we don't really get to see each other because they're some of our biggest weeks.

A mixed format would be amazing. I heard the Grant Thornton went really well last year, so hopefully we can do that for when we come back in LA.

Q. If you could pick one person to be a teammate with, who is it?

HANNAH GREEN: I think Cam or Scotty.

Q. You got give me one.

HANNAH GREEN: I'll say Cam.

Q. Obviously you already have a win this season. Seemed really started your season off hot. The consistency is there. What is it about this season that is just clicking early for you? I know you've had some successful seasons while you've been on tour, since you've been on tour. It just feels like I'm talking to you a lot more recently.

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I don't know. Just been really motivated this off-season. I played the Australian Open in December last year and took six weeks off.

It was more the mental recharge that I needed. Also didn't help that I had a wedding to also get ready for. I had about four weeks to get ready for Thailand and Singapore, but I really worked hard in those four weeks.

It's nice to see that that's working out so early in the season. I just want to make sure I'm consistent throughout the year. Last week I didn't play my best golf, so I just want to make sure I'm putting myself in these positions and dealing with these experiences.

Q. What did you think Jarryd is gonna say when he wakes up?

HANNAH GREEN: I think he'll be very surprised, especially because I called him coming to the golf club saying I wasn't feeling well. Yeah, I did it.
