VALSPAR CHAMPIONSHIP

March 24, 2024

Cameron Young

Palm Harbor, Florida, USA

Innisbrook Resort (Copperhead)

Quick Quotes

Q. Another good solid week. Can you -- obviously the bogey on the last was a disappointment. Can you talk about that tee shot first?

CAMERON YOUNG: Yeah, it was just a bad time for a pull. Trying to hit kind of the same, similar one that I hit off of 16. Not quite as dramatic of a cut, but just kind of started it on the wrong side of the wind, and it's blowing pretty good off the right. So, yeah, just a bad time for a bad one.

Q. What did you have after that?

CAMERON YOUNG: 120-ish, I'm not sure.

Q. Over bushes?

CAMERON YOUNG: Yeah, over bushes, didn't have much of a back swing the direction I would have liked to. I kind of fatted it. I think I'm pretty fortunate that it ended up where it did. But, yeah, I mean, not a great look.

Q. What did you hit there?

CAMERON YOUNG: Gap wedge.

Q. When did you see in that last par putt?

CAMERON YOUNG: More break than it did. I don't know. I just over read it a hair. I think it bobbled a little bit maybe halfway there, and just never started coming down the hill.

Q. What are you most proud of this week?

CAMERON YOUNG: I think I kept myself in it mentally really well today. I hit a couple shots I was really proud of late. Those two par-3s on the back, both kind of can bite you. I kind of let 15 get me yesterday, in a similar situation, similar wind and everything. So I was proud of that shot, just making sure it didn't bite me. But I think I handled my own thoughts really well and, for me, that's a big win regardless of the outcome.

Q. You had talked all week about how well you handled your emotions. What are the emotions like right now?

CAMERON YOUNG: I don't know. Honestly, I realized I wasn't going to win pretty quickly, and I have a four-hour drive home with a one and a two year old, so whatever emotions are attached to that.
