VALSPAR CHAMPIONSHIP

March 21, 2024

Sam Burns

Palm Harbor, Florida, USA

Innisbrook Resort (Copperhead)

Quick Quotes

Q. Being back at a place where you had success, does it make it a little bit easier when you tee off, or is it just a new year and none of that mattered?

SAM BURNS: I don't think any of that matters. You don't get a head start, so I think it's just, it's another week. I mean, it's obviously nice to come back to a place you've won, but from a golf standpoint, I don't think it really make that's much of a difference.

Q. Did your ball plug under a lip? Is that what happened?

SAM BURNS: Yeah.

Q. Tee shot on the lip and not much can you do from there?

SAM BURNS: Yeah, I just tried to get it out and that's about it.

Q. What did you think overall of the rest of your play?

SAM BURNS: It was all right. I didn't play very good, didn't really play bad, just so-so.

Q. Masters question for you. Last year there was a lot of interest, obviously, when they changed the 13th hole and the tee. How do you think it actually worked out? Like, was it much harder or --

SAM BURNS: It really just depend on the wind direction on that tee shot. I don't recall what it was each day, but it probably plays a little bit more difficult, I would think, just because you're hitting a longer club then off that side hill lie.

Q. Did it ever keep you from going for it in two? Do you really got to bust one out there?

SAM BURNS: Yeah, I don't remember. I don't remember off the top of my head, honestly.
