ARNOLD PALMER INVITATIONAL

March 8, 2024

Brian Harman

Bay Hill, Florida, USA

Bay Hill Club and Lodge

Quick Quotes

Q. How would you assess the day?

BRIAN HARMAN: Yeah, it was pretty solid. Didn't really get out of position much. Only had to save par a couple times. Only bogey on the 18th. Just hit a wayward drive. Struck the ball really well. Had a lot of chances for birdie. Hopefully, a lot of that this weekend.

Q. You talked about maybe losing a little bit of your form after Hawaii, what was the biggest thing that you worked on to get the form back?

BRIAN HARMAN: Yeah, for me it's always a strike with the irons. If I can be really aggressive with 6-, 7-, 8-, 9-iron, then I'm usually going to drive it pretty good, so being able to fit those balls in there when I'm driving it well is probably the most important. Just get more and more birdie looks. If I hit a bunch of greens, I'm usually a pretty tough out.

Q. Obviously, you won the Open Championship, you play tough golf courses well, what is it about a demanding test like this that kind of piques your interest and your level?

BRIAN HARMAN: Well, this place has not piqued my interest over the years, it's whipped me pretty good. But it's a place where, if you pull off, you know, if you take on some spots on the tee, you can have some short clubs in. That's just been my plan this week, try to take on what I can, and try to use what little advantage I have.

Q. Is it more like form, just the way you're playing right now that has changed, or did you have a different mental approach coming in here?

BRIAN HARMAN: For whatever reason, I just haven't been in form here. I'm in a little better form, ended up making a couple more putts, and playing the par-3s well, those are usually the ones that get me.

Q. What's the biggest thing you need to focus on to stay in contention?

BRIAN HARMAN: It's going to get windy tomorrow, greens are going to keep firming up, so it's going to be really hard to get the ball close. Just got to stay patient, and try to make a long putt here or there.
