Quick Quotes

Q. I'm here with Celine Boutier after the final round of the HSBC Women's World Championship, a bogey-free round today. You played really great golf. How did you feel out there today?

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, feeling very good about my round today. I think I played a lot better than yesterday which was really positive. I feel like I made some putts and I gave myself a lot of chances. So I'm very satisfied with my round.

Q. That last putt, what were you thinking over the last putt. It was about five feet; correct?

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, it was definitely a bit nerve-wracking. I wasn't sure whether it was going to break or not. I was just trying to make a solid stroke and hopefully it was going to be the right line and it went in.

Q. How aware were you of the leaderboard today?

CELINE BOUTIER: I wasn't really paying too much attention to be honest. I was honestly trying to focus on my game. I knew it was going to be a long shot. I was two shots back. So I was focused on trying to get myself into positions and trying to make a run for it.

Q. Obviously before you saw Hannah make the putt, and you went to the putting green. What was going through your mind, your emotions?

CELINE BOUTIER: I was just trying to do something just because I was kind of nervous and just sitting around watching wasn't really helping. So I just decided to go out and at least go on the putting green and hit some putts just to try to pass the time.

Q. On 17 green, there's a big leaderboard behind the green. Were you looking at that leaderboard and what was going through your mind on the 17th green?

CELINE BOUTIER: I kind of glassed at it but I wasn't really focused on it. I knew my putt was going to be important and I kind of ended up being short-sided. That was a bit frustrating. Yeah, I gave myself chances. I made some putts and I missed the some and that happens. So I can't be too mad about my round today.

Q. What's next for you now?

CELINE BOUTIER: Playing in China next week.

Q. And this was almost too close to what happened in Malaysia.

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah. I actually, yeah, it kind of reminded me a little bit, here again in another playoff. But I think it was really good for me to be in that position after today, starting the round, I didn't even know if I had a shot. So I was just trying to put myself up there, and it was great to even have a thought of making it a playoff.

Q. Another great finish to kick off the start of 2024. What does this do for your momentum especially heading into this week?

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, it feels great to putt a solid week together. I definitely feel like I didn't have the best of starts in Thailand last week, so it great to have some good rounds under my belt and will try to keep going.
