Sentosa Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Here after your third round at the HSBC Women's World Championship. You shot up the leaderboard. How did you feel out there?

JIN YOUNG KO: Yeah, I played really well today, and I wanted to be more patient and I want to be better than yesterday. So yeah, I focus more the last two days. I played really well today.

Q. And what are some of those things you're telling yourself to be patient out there on the golf course?

JIN YOUNG KO: This golf course is not too easy make birdies. The course setup is really different the from the last two years and the green speed is amazing fast. At this time, yeah, it was really tough but I made a lot of birdies and I was lucky to make long, long putts.

Q. And I don't know but the last two years, did you come-from-behind or were you in the lead heading into the final day?

JIN YOUNG KO: I don't know either.

Q. Are you more comfortable being in the lead or coming from behind?

JIN YOUNG KO: Doesn't matter.

Q. What's the game plan today? What are you going to work on today before tomorrow?

JIN YOUNG KO: I think I need to go to hotel to rest. I think that will be better than practise for tomorrow because it will be really hot. Just have lunch and take a nap.

Q. Tomorrow you have a chance to join a long list of players that have won three consecutive times in a row. What would that mean to you to join that list especially with people like Inbee on that list?

JIN YOUNG KO: It's a great honour if I do win tomorrow. But I don't want to like make more pressure to give myself. Just enjoying with Singaporeans. After tomorrow, I'm back to Korea and it's been seven weeks almost.

Q. How excited are you to get back?

JIN YOUNG KO: A hundred percent. I want to play with my dog and I want to have a good time with my family and friends.

Q. We've seen you a lot on our coverage over the last couple of weeks, and it appear there's been a lot of birdies but unfortunately a few too many bogeys as well. However, today, eight birdies and only two bogeys, 66 as the wind starts to pick up a little bit. You must be very pleased?

JIN YOUNG KO: I made really well today, and I had a lot of birdies and a lot of bogeys the last two days. I thought it's going to be a really tough golf course, and just be more patient on the course. I played in the first group today. I think it was my first time to play the first group on the LPGA Tour, and so it was really fun.

Yeah, the course is not easy to make birdies, but yeah, I was lucky so I made a lot of birdies today.

Q. You is played alongside Australian Grace Kim in the first group as well who was 5-under par for her round. Did that help a little bit feeding off her energy?

JIN YOUNG KO: When I see her, she looked, like just don't think about too much and just look easy. It was a little motivating to me because she's got five birdies in six holes to play, so it was really impressive to see. I'm really happy to play with her.

Q. In your pre tournament press conference, you said one of your goals was to be fun and be the happiest golfer on the golf course. How do you do that when things aren't going your way?

JIN YOUNG KO: I couldn't be happy yesterday. But I was trying to be more happy as a golfer today. Sometimes it makes me like more relaxed and feel comfortable.

Q. It's been nine years since a player has won the same tournament on the LPGA three years in a row. You've won 26 times as a pro, and you'll have a chance to win this tournament three times in a row tomorrow. Can you explain your fondness playing in Singapore?

JIN YOUNG KO: If I win tomorrow, yeah, I will buy house in Singapore maybe could be chance. But I heard it's really expensive housing in Singapore, I don't know yet. But if I win, yeah, it's going to be a really great honour, and yeah, I will do my best tomorrow and be more patient.
