Patty Tavatanakit

Pattaya, Thailand

Siam Country Club Pattaya, Old Course

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, Patty, that front nine, something to be quite proud of. Just overall, how are you walking away from day three?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, I'm really proud of my performance today. It's getting very tiring, exhausting in the heat. I'm just going to conserve my energy and take on the challenge tomorrow.

Q. Couple of birdies before that impressive eagle. What was working so well on the front nine holes for you?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Just very present. I took one shot at a time. Things worked out.

Q. What was that eagle like for you? Walk me through the emotions there.

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, I felt really comfortable with my putting on the front nine. I was seeing the line and speed really well. I knew I had a good chance of making that putt and when it went in I was just really happy.

Q. Are you one to look at leaderboards at all when you're going around a courses?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Not really. I just kind of want to focus on myself and do my best.

Q. I know commitment is a big thing that Pia and Lynn and everyone that has talked through making sure you're feeling present in your shots. When it is getting to go the back nine and the energy isn't where you want it to be, what are you focusing onto grind and get to the end of the round?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, just having a good mindset of looking forward. Taking all the energy and all the focus forward. What are you going to do on the next shot. What are you going to do on this shot.

Like I said, just taking one shot at a time and hope for the best.

Q. Just talk through 15. Were you always going to go for that and not layup?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah.

Q. And the second, the chip, that was incredibly quick, right?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah. I had two quick chips on the back nine. I feel like I did really, really well.

Q. The chip in on the front nine...

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, I feel like on that hole I had a little hiccup on the drive. Feel like the crowds weren't settled. It was on me for not backing off and reset.

But other than that, I felt like walking off the green I told myself like whatever it is the course today is going to give me, I'm up for it.

Q. Lastly, looked like you pulled a couple shots on the drives. I think 18 and 9. Is that anything you're going to work...

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: I don't remember.

Q. Just one thing. I remember at Chevron going into the final round there you were looking at words. You were thinking of different mindsets that you worked on. What is something that maybe you'll do tonight to really kind of focus in on what a final round in contention means to you?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, feel like last week gave me a lot of confidence going into tomorrow. I'm not saying I'm going to guarantee the result right away, but there is a lot of positives and a lot of good things to look at the past seven rounds I've played.

So I'm just going to have fun, stay present, and be very, very busy with my process.
